The Postage Stamp series are pretty good entry level collector die-cast models of some famous warbirds. This B-25 is pretty heavy and I was concerned if the plastic base would continue to hold the model over the years. No options for landing gear, if so those would have to be die-cast as well. Great looking model in this paint scheme, a few minor parts are incorrect for this variant of the B-25, but no one will notice.

This is an amazing product. The size is just right, it’s made out of a nice solid metal and the workmanship is fantastic! It’s accurate and lifelike! I highly recommend this and any of Daron’s products!

This is a well made model that is exactly what was advertised. The problem is Amazon shipped this to me in a soft envelope (also another model I purchased) which resulted in crushed / torn product packaging. Not that I think this is ever going to be real “collector” item, but we all know that the original packaging condition really has an impact on value of collectables. So be aware… it’s highly likely the product packaging will be damaged by Amazon’s choice to mail in an envelope.

This model has incredible details and looks great.

Most of the model seems solid as a rock – it really is surprisingly weighty. The propeller blades and the gun barrels – especially the waist guns – seem very flimsy and liable to break off if you handle the model. I’ve also noticed mine wobbles a lot on its stand, even with just the motion of me typing while it sits on my desk.
EDIT: When the wobbling got excessive, I contacted Daron and they sent me a replacement stand, which was nice of them. It’s better, but it’s still flimsy enough that I don’t think it will last much longer than the previous one.

Unfortunately, these planes were not what I was looking for. They appear to be good quality, but smaller than I expected and already preassembled.

Todo me gustó está super muy recomendable

These are heavy metal replicas, well worth the price point. Always pick up the plane by the wing tip, it is the best way to handle and avoid mishaps. I think I will stream “30 seconds over Tokyo” now LOL.

So here we have a B-25-J-1-NC Mitchell bomber that was to be assigned to the 499th Bomb Squadron ‘Bats Outta Hell’ 345th Bomb Group
‘Air Apaches’. The other squadrons included in the 345th Bomb Group being the 498th ‘Falcons’ 500th ‘Rough Raiders’ and the 501st
    ‘Black Panthers’.
The 499th were originally flown from the United States to Townsville,Queensland,Australia to be fitted out before being flown to New
Guinea to begin operational service. They would go on to serve missions against the Japanese Imperial Army in the Bismarck Archipelago,
Northern Solomons, the Philippines,Luzon and the Western Pacific. They also served in the China Defensive and the Air Offensive against Japan.
Typical missions included strafing Japanese ground forces and supplies along with anti-shipping assignments.

So on to the replica. Its a nice size. Bigger in than the Daron B-17 909. Though i guess that stands to reason with the B-17 being a massive
heavy bomber and the B-25 being a Medium bomber.
My disappointment for want of a better word, lies in the nose armament on this replica. It should contain 8 0.50 (12.7mm) AN/M2 Browning
machine guns. Instead it looks like its been fitted out with 1 75mm M4 cannon. Which were fitted to the G or H model B-25’s.
Its also missing the side package machine guns just aft of the cockpit and co-pilot positions. Though i guess that can be over looked as
the first 555 J models were not fitted with side pack machine guns due to the huge stress placed on the fuselage from muzzle blast.
I’ve looked the restored and flying B-25 ‘Bettys Dream’ and it seems to not have the side pack armament either…so okay.

Otherwise, all seems to be in order. If purchasing this replica,do yourself a favour and grab either a square or circular 4inch wooden base
off Amazon and with the supplied stand locked in place, sit it on that. It really makes the replica pop. I spray paint the wooden bases black.
A great little replica. Grab one while you still can. Highly recommended.
