The coolest Johnson Wax model I’ve ever seen. My son and I spent hours gluing it together. Can’t wait to visit the actual building.

This kit was an absolute pleasure to build. I’d never built a model quite like this, but I loved it. The pieces are laser-cut and have a sticky side. You remove the pieces from the frame, peel off the sticker-covering, and put them in place, building upwards one layer at a time The model makers took care to add guidelines or steps to add temporary guide-posts so that it’s easy to line up the next layers. It takes thought and care, but it’s not hard. I wouldn’t say that this is a challenging model, but I got to that model-Zen stage where it’s just complex and interesting enough to take my own concentration. I finished it in about two hours. I meant to only do a half-hour, but I got so into it that I wanted to finish in one sitting. The only area that gave me a little trouble was the tower itself; lining that was harder, and with more practice, I’d do a better job next time. The magnetic ball bearing for the globe sculpture up-front was a fun touch. After building this kit, I bought their three other Frank Lloyd Wright pieces, but I haven’t built them yet. The finished product looks very classy: a great office or living room decoration. Highly recommended!
