13 reviews for Guillow’s North American B-25 Mitchell Model Kit

  1. Brian Blevins

It was not up to my previous expectations. Many of the parts were not precut enough to make removing them easy, many broke and I had to piece them together.

  2. BP

Good kit, but no extra balsa?? What? It’s a big box, and when you open it up its almost empty. From what I can tell so far, at least all the required pieces are there… I’m still building so I will update when I get through with it. Seems like Guillow’s is really skimping these days. Balsa is fragile… I’m really worried that I’ll accidentally break some piece and won’t have any extra wood to make a new one.

Overall though, I’m pretty excited to get this thing built. The instructions seem of high quality, and with a little patience and a light touch the plane should come out great

  3. Ian McGrigor

My heading says it all, all of the stringers were so brittle, laying them on the ribs to glue them in place just with the lightest touch would break.
I have made 4 other Guillow’s models and found the balsa was great to work with so I was happy to buy this twin engine B25. Now I am stripping all the broken stringers and some of the ribs and formers and replacing them with new ones, hand crafting others. I wonder if any other modellers have had this same problem as I have?

  4. Robert Bodach

everything in good condition and intact.

  5. Rex Potter

i found a balsa sheetvery poorly laser cut so kit is unfinished not a happy

  6. Amazon Customer

Still working on the model… for display only. Making some material substitutions (balsa sheeting instead of silkspan).
    Enjoying the model.

  7. Harry Conley

The building instruction sheets are a little difficult to follow. Some of the parts do not fit together too well. I have built about 25 Guillows planes. All in all I would rate the kit as “good”.

  8. Don Harrison

Looks great will love building this one

  9. amazon_customer

It’s not laser cut so it’s a bit difficult to get nice edges, but it’s a fairly accurate model, and good quality.

  10. Walt Lumley

I understand the plastic parts will make building easy however I was looking for a building experience like I had in the 1950’s

this was the forth guillows model ive build in the last few months and the best so far. been 40 years sense i last built one of guillows model. i have to say that i had more enjoyment building the B25 mitchell, than any of the laser cut models.looking forward to the next build think of C47
