  1. Annie Mc

Turned out to be quite expensive as you need to buy paint, brushes and adhesive

  2. Don F. Doiron

Lesser quality kit…so adjustments are necessary. But…if you do it right it looks fab

As a long time model ship maker and Titanic enthusiast, the 2011 release of their 1/700 Titanic kit is the perfect starter kit on the legendary liner. The scale is perfect, extremely detailed and very work able and with aftermarket detail sets available, such as 1/700 scale photo etch brass parts such as window frames, railings, stairs and much more, the kit can be easily split between a first time builder and that of a experienced builder.

Even as a straight out of the box build, for the money and the scale with level of detail, the final result is that of a supberb display piece.

Its a very good version of this ship. Only missing little pieces but important for imaginary of this legendary boat…!, the handrails…, but and most of all prepared to a long task if you want to do it like the image at the box, so this is not a model for beginners.

Have built this kit a number of times. Have to use patience and paint the compilation of parts before gluing it all together. Great kit

  6. CT Shopper

very nice model, but smaller than you would imagine, even if you guestimated its size using the measurements. lots of parts, hoping my 9 year old completes it.

  7. Michael J

This is very nice, incredibly detailed model of the Titanic, however, it is tiny. Even looking at the dimensions before ordering, I didn’t fully visualize how small it is, which leads to a few problems.

    1. Without tweezers and a magnifying glass, it is nearly impossible to assemble, though I would imagine most advanced modelers would have these, but it really isn’t geared towards those people/kids.

    2. Cutting the parts out can be challenging, even with a sharp exacto knife. Take your time. I type this with a bandaged finger from trying to shave off the nubs from some of the pieces.

    3. Painting. Once again, incredibly tiny parts that are very difficult to paint. Paint most of them before you cut them out, the touch them up afterwards. Make sure you have very small paint brushes, not the Testor ones that come with the paint kits, they don’t work.

The plastic parts seem a little flimsy to me, but for the parts to fit together nicely.

Overall, it’s very detailed and looks nice, however I think if I would put together another one, I’d grab one twice this size. It’s too small.

  8. Aleksandra

Thank you, the only thing I want to mention is that in this kit no glue and colours included. We didn’t know about it.

Para un nieto que es fan del Titanic y conoce su historia y sus pormenores

  10. Chris H.

I can’t lie when this kit arrived at my door I thought to myself why did I let my 6 yr old son talk me into buying this for him. There are so many pieces to this thing. It was quite intimidating. If not for my son’s passion for the titanic and him asking me every 5 minutes to put it together I would have sent it back.

The instructions are in several different languages. But, as I started putting it together I realized it wasn’t as tough as it looked, in fact it turned out to be an enjoyable project.

To sum this up, I’m really happy with the purchase and I’m glad I overcame my fear!

Son loved it. It’s nightmare to put together. Not for kids or teenagers. Took me days to figure out the directions- Not coded in a user friendly format. You must paint it first before putting it together otherwise it will never look perfect. I’ve thought about ordering another one to re-do now I have figured out the easier way to build it.

I’ve never ever seen a model as bad put together as this parts don’t even fit together instructions incredibly poor I wouldn’t pay 2 quid its a disgrace to the history of titanic should be ashamed

  13. ashlee

Super good model I didn’t paint it really good though I’m only 10 years old and I suck at painting 🙂
