very very poor quality model .thought id take a gamble at only £4 odd to practice weathering but not even good enough 4 that!

  2. Amazon Customer

Great little model aircraft. Arrived on time and in great condition – would shop here again!

  3. TJB

A really low quality model kit. Short on detail and bad molding combine to produce a badly fitting kit.
Revell should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to sell this very old kit and charging modern kit pricing.
New Airfix versions so much better.

  4. Peter S.

In 1963, Revell made the worst 1/72 P-51D model ever made. All shapes and proportions are totally off, including a nose thin as a broomstick, a fat swollen rear fuselage, a stabilizer that sits 3 mm too high, and wings that are way too short and narrow. When I saw this kit, I initially thought the box contained maybe the old but basically sound Matchbox kit, or perhaps a Hasegawa kit – I couldn’t imagine Revell still selling that horrible abomination from 1963. But then I saw the seller’s photo here at Amazon… But I bought the kit anyway, because I wanted the decals. These were GREAT and the only reason for the three stars (I put them on an Airfix model). The rest of the kit is… well, “nostalgia”, to be polite.

  5. Long time Amazon Customer

Revell quality is questionable at times.

  6. Amazon Customer

I had a really great time building this kit!
Most reviews on here absolutely bash this kit, yes indeed it does have flaws (especially if you’re the kind of modeller where it’s all about the details) but I genuinely loved building this. I personally don’t mind that some of the details are slightly off, to me it still looks great.
This kit is over 40 years old, so expect there to be a flash around some parts and maybe a fit issue or two, but nothing that some filler/sprue glue and a little sanding can’t take care of.

I absolutely can not recommend this to beginner or first time modellers, but to an experienced modeller who likes a challenge then this is perfect!!!

  7. Gary Blechacz

This was a fun model to build.

  8. Karl Morgan Wikström

The quality of the injection moulded frames is bad, there is a lot of trimming required and pieces need a lot of work to get together.
Last time for a Revell model; Airfix and Tamila in future

  9. Peter S.

The model itself is an old Revell kit, instructions sometimes unclear, parts are not quite fitting well. With a lot (awfully lot) sanding, patience and time you’ll eventually get there.

  10. Amazon Customer

    The wings were missing.

  11. Amazon Customer

Nice little model for younger kids, pretty easy to put together.
