Even though I’ve already built a me-109 before I bought this kit to build an E-4 version that I had seen in a book.
This kit is wonderful,it’s easy to build and fits together beautifully. In comparison to Revell’s 1/48 G-14Me-109 this is a whole other world, the panel lines are engraved, there is no warping, and the details are superb, as opposed to the soft mush found in the Revell kit. Of course the Tamiya kit costs about $5-15 more, but it is well worth every penny. While the difference between the three versions of the Me-109E are limited to the propeller hub and the choice of intakes, the markings allow you to build some iconic planes straight from the box. I’m constantly amazed by what I get out of Tamiya’s 1/48 scale WWII range and this is no exception.
With the variety of versions and markings offered this is a kit not to miss.

This was one of the best kits I’ve ever built. I remember this was one of my earliest builds but it ended up being fantastically finished- inexperienced modellers will love it, and experienced modellers will be sure to add some detail to it!
Overall dimensions are pretty accurate. Length of nose is about a few millimeters short but the height of the fuselage is perfect!
I greatly enjoyed building this kit and shows the engineering genius of Tamiya. It exactly matched my expectations as a great kit from this company.
