  5. John H

Another winner from Tamiya. My first attempt at a tracked vehicle and found it challenging but very doable.

Okay, I was really satisfied with my purchase because it came faster thant he estimated arrival date and because it was in a great condition. The kit comes in a very fragile box but it had no marks on it or dents on it and I found that amazingly hard to believe!! These guys keep their product clean, neat and in perfectly new condition. Thus, the kit overall has all the pieces and I think this is a really good kit to start off with for beginners like myself.

Another great looking model in this line of 1/48 military vehicles. Small in this scale of course, but well designed and true to the original.

I am using this model for tabletop wargaming scenarios based on the Bolt Action rule set marketed by Osprey. I have found that Tamiya’s 1/48 scale World War II vehicle range is ideal for 28mm sized miniatures that are used in this gaming system. The models marketed by Warlord Games (actually made by Italieri) are 1/56 scale, which is far too small for the miniatures and other products they offer. The construction of this model was relatively easy to accomplish, although I struggled with putting the tow hitch on correctly. The drawing was too small and left it unclear how to assemble this part, so I just left it off the model. The two plastic miniature figures that come with the model are too slim and short to fit with 28mm scale, so I left them off as well.

I’ve built two of these now and they are terrificly detailed models. I can’t recommend them enough. That being said, be very careful when removing the hull mounted bren gun from the sprue… the barrels can be quite fragile/brittle . I’ve inadvertently made 2 of the rare snub nose bren guns by snapping of the tips of the barrels on both models 🙁

This ia a very nice little kit, detale is crisp as allways from Tamya, the limited detail is fine for the scale.
