For space reasons I am replacing all my 1/48 builds with 1/72. This kit has good details and a joy to build. It has multi-colored parts, meaning that if you don’t want to paint it, things that should be gray are gray, black is black, white is white. But, despite that you should still paint everything, something I learned at a young age as a scale modeler, paint it even if it is the right color already.

It is a nicely detailed model but I had a prolblem with the fit. Some things just didn’t fit right. I was able to work around this and build a very nice model. I liked the fact that they gave you a pilot. Overall I would say good but not perfect.

Superbly engineered and very easy to assemble! Priced better than retail outlets, and delivered to my door. I am very pleased with this model kit.

The model was overly difficult to paint without a mask to paint the special camouflage the aircraft is known to have.

Would of loved to rate higher becauae i lovws the model and the plain but missing so many parts i couldnt complete landing gear due to parts missing for some reason and as well as the missiles, were just not even there

This is the 2nd time I built academies f-35A. The first build went through almost flawlessly but bought 2nd after a botched paint job. What I can say is that when put together, looks great. Simple construction. Two negatives though.. I had issues with cockpit fitting together and the upper and lower fuselage as well. And maybe the decals not wanting to stick all that well. I really wish these f-35 kits came with decals or stencils to paint those gray RAM lines because I had to do those painfully by hand. Great looking model but for those reasons it’s a 4/5 stars. Photos I haven’t put all the decals on just yet. And I chose to build this one without armament as I have rarely seen any real pics of f-35a with external weapons attached
