How do you start building model kits? Building a plastic model kit can be enjoyable. Follow these simple steps to begin:
Choose a model kit: Automobiles, airplanes, ships, and military vehicles are available. Choose one that matches your skill level and interests you.
Purchase a hobby knife, sandpaper, plastic cement or adhesive, paint, and brushes. You may also require a cutting pad, tweezers, and clamps for modeling.
Read these instructions: Each kit includes instructions. Before you begin, make sure to read them carefully. Please review the instructions and ensure you have all the necessary pieces.
Cut the plastic parts: Carefully remove them from the sprues with your hobby knife. Avoid harming or breaking any components. Smooth rough edges and seams using sandpaper. They can be cleaned with a mild soap and water.
Build the model: Follow the instructions. Join the parts with plastic cement or adhesive. Take the time to properly arrange the parts. After assembling the model, paint it using acrylic or enamel. Use a primer to help the paint adhere to the plastic.
Apply decals: Using a decal-setting solution, carefully apply the kit decals on the model. After the paint has dried, add any remaining elements or accessories to complete the sculpture.
Building model kits is enjoyable and gratifying, but it needs patience, detail, and practice. Even if your first try fails, don’t quit. Practice can help you develop excellent models.

MY PERSONALIZED PORTFOLIO
28 professional years modeling architecture, engineering, prototyping, ships, and more.
I worked on several architectural and engineering model projects from 1979 to 2007. My work includes engineering models, ships, oil rigs, prototypes, structures, and oil and gas processing plant models.
I use milling machines, routers, grinders, sanders, mini-lathes, and band saws. I can power air guns, airbrush sprayers, miniature machine tools, and handheld electrical equipment with air compressors. My skills include carpentry.
Laser cutting and CAD engraving/routing have been my major CAD-CAM tools for years. Laser cutting has helped me build architectural and technical models. I have created architectural models for Suntec City, Marina Centre, The Concourse, condos, apartments, and HDBs.
I met deadlines and was thorough, making these assignments possible. I enhance and update my model-making and manufacturing skills.
I modeled the Malaysian Tin Mining Dredge, Sarawak Suspension Bridge, Submersible Sea Exploration Craft, full-size computerized weighing system, and offshore wellhead platform. I build scale models of ships that transport oil, land on beaches, supply ships at sea, and aid naval operations.
Iโve built hundreds of professional models and tools. This site aims to provide experience in building model kits using my expertise.
