I hope AMT retools this kit. I spent more time scraping and sanding all the flashing and imperfections than I did building it. The wheels are out of round and the spacers don’t work on the small wheels forcing the wheels to be glued without turning. There are extra parts which are nice especially a second set of pad printed tires. The body fits ok but the stance is awkward without additional modifications to raise the rear end up a bit. I custom made 1/8” shackles to make it level shown in the photo otherwise it sagged like it had a ton of bricks in the trunk. It’s buildable and has potential, but you’ll need a lot of patience.

My Dearest Friend And I both owned 68 Camaros back in the day , it was recently both our birthdays so I bought us each this kit, now we just have to”make them ” ours, it’ll have to do till either of us hit the lottery to afford the real ones again 😃

I make skulls with lots of stuff in them. I got a request for an engine. I thought that would be cool.
I quickly found out how difficult it can be to find one on the entire internet.

Finally I got frustrated and decided to get a car and just modify the engine. I saw this one and gave it a shot.
Wow, am I glad I did.
First I started laying out pieces of the engine. There are a lot of pieces and I noticed Standard, stock engine with standard exhaust or blown engine with headers, of any combo of any of it.

I’m old school so I like the stock look with the air cleaner. However the guy that I was making it for opted for the fully blown engine. In the end he was right, as you can see.

The scale was a bit of an issue but I ended up drilling a through-hole straight up the transmission tail shaft to put a copper wire to act as the power transmission and become the spinal chord.
Then I had to figure how to get rid of the air getting trapped in the stacks. I poured clear with it sitting upright.

I totally forgot about the air that would be trapped inside the engine. As it was curing the heat forced the air out but it was gelled just enough to restrict it making it look like the engine was ‘running’ I could not have done that better.

The customer was extremely happy with it and now wants me to make another one with a different engine.

This kit worked out perfect for him, me and the project as a whole. Great detail.

I bought this as a gag gift for my brother who wished he could find a 68 Camaro to rebuild. (He was rebuilding a 78 because that was the closest he could find. He enjoyed it and said it was an easier build than the 78.

My interior price came warped pretty bad and some other pieces didn’t fit right. Pretty solid kit other then that, maybe I just got a bad one.

I got this for a gift for someone who loves the real car equivalent. The box came in damaged but the contents were fine. You must put the car together yourself and have the tools and paint of your choosing to color it.

Product arrived quickly and was exactly what I wanted.

I built this kit years ago but since I have got a little older I have returned to the hobby I once loved. This Round 2 kit comes with the white letters already on all the tires! You get two complete sets of them in different sizes so if you are into parts collecting this is a good kit for you. It also come with two different hoods. One already has the hole cut in it if you want to build the engine that way or you can use the stock hood. Awesome kit!
