after trying delicately to bend bits in the 1 hour, I had 3 bits totally destroyed

Love Metal Earth. They’re a little hard to work with and very easy to mess up on but great products and the end result is very cool. Make sure you have some tweezers, needle nose pliers (preferably with no teeth as that can damage the metal), and a bent needle nose pliers if you have one as that helps with hard to reach areas. The metal is sharp so use caution and take your time as mistakes are difficult to undo.

    great christmas present ..

These are really cool, but not for someone who is not able to manipulate very small pieces or someone who has no patience! Make sure that you have a pair of reading glasses AND a magnifying lens if you are over 40! Also, make sure that you have (at a minimum) a small pair of needle-nose pliers and a sharp (skinny) knife (I use an Exacto blade).

Rear legs of forward mast don’t fit and there are no slots in the deck to receive them. Bought two of them. Pity because over all look is good.

My 8 & 10 year old nephews love these metal earth. I have given them as gifts to ages 8-15 and all great results. The skill definition is pretty spot on.

12 year old enjoyed. It was a little more complex than led to believe, but he was able to maneuver it

My husband loves these! There must be about 10 different little models he has made all over the house. For Christmas I got him a bunch more because they keep him busy for hours and he uses it as a way to unwind after work. They are very time consuming and take a lot of patience, something I do not have. He is also a mechanical engineer so that is part of the reason for his love for them, nothing makes him more happy than breaking things down and then engineering them back together. Typically he breaks down giant motors so giving him something Tiny to keep him busy also saves me lots of space in the already full garage. If anyone knows an engineer or someone who works on mechanical things they will love these.

Got this for my brother as a gift since he likes models and naval vessels and the like. And we live in Arizona, so that just made it better. However, he was annoyed at how careful he had to be just getting the pieces out of the sheet, so he decided to give it to a friend to put together for him so he could have the awesome model. I don’t have an update about the final opinion, but it seems good.
