Description
- 【NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNER】 – this ship model kit needs to build by yourself, not finished model, so it has some difficulty, need you to have some assembling basis, skills and patience. for example, you need to polish the hull smoothly and prune some wooden accessorries during the assembly process etc. as to the ancient sailing ship models, the biggest difficulty should be the mast and rigging system
- 【PACKAGE INCLUDE】 – the model ship kits for adults including 12pcs laser cut wooden plates, metal assemble accessories, color instructions and 1 set 1/96 lifeboat. and please make attention, it will not contain glue, knives, paint, polished tools, fixture or rope ladder tool. the size of the finished ship is about 334 mm x 470 mm/ 13.1 inch x 18.5 inch. and because it is measured manually, there may be some errors in the size
- 【GOOD QUALITY】 – the boat model kit wooden parts have three materials, Teak deck, Cherry wood(hull, outer keel) and Basswood laminate, the parts are accurately cut by laser. easy to take off by knife. and due to the different batches. there is a slight color difference. and because the laser focus energy melts the wood, there will be a little blackening on the back of the wood parts. hope you can understand!

Was disappointed in this one. I built it but was not fun!

I’ve been building wooden ship models for almost 30 years. Some from scratch and others from kits. In some ways, it’s an easy build, in other ways not at all. The hull planking was easy, but the canon carriages were difficult, smaller than my little fingernail. I wouldn’t recommend it for children. They’ll get frustrated and give up.

The directions were the absolute worst I’ve ever tried to follow. The pictures included were out of focus and the directions were out of order and had no clear description as to what went where. Horrible kit!!

My Dad used to assemble wooden ships but it’s been 20 or so years. I got this for him for Christmas since he’s recently retired and looking for a hobby. He’s slowly getting it built, but he is really enjoying it! He’s struggling a bit with making it work, so I’m not sure it’s great for “beginners,” but I’ll add an update when he’s all done! But so far, it’s a great gift!

The instructions for completing the hull and deck structures were pretty clear given my level of experience. On the other hand, the masts and rigging are completely lacking. All of the dowels are the same length and there isn’t one indication in the instructions as to what their individual lengths should be. You are left to guess lengths and diameter. Even for an experience model builder, this project is a challenge that is borderline impossible to complete.

I will say construction of wooden model itself while difficult had decent instructions and went fairly smooth BUT, BUT, BUT rigging details for ship and sails are worthless. Drawings are vague and without detail. Your left guessing what to do with all these very tiny parts and how to possibly attach them to the ship. The string provided for rigging and ladder construction is larger than the holes provided in the pieces used to construct them and the parts are so small there is no way to enlarge the holes without ruining them.
Basically left with a ship you can’t apply rigging too….very disappointing!
