   Prima di tutto NON è un giocattolo! In mani esperte o volenterose e con un po’ di passione si ottengono buoni risultati estetici. Non è consigliabile come primo approccio al modellismo statico storico in plastica. Molti pezzi vanno dipinti prima del montaggio e occorrono alcuni aggiustamenti in corso d’opera. Le istruzioni sono in lingua francese, ma questo non è un problema! Sono abbastanza schematiche e vanno integrate con un po’di ricerca in rete.

   S’è acquistate questo kit, molto probabilmente troverete due identici lati della nave. In questa condizione non potrete completare l’assemblaggio dell kit, ma solo fare il reso per il rimborso, come ho fatto io. Ero allertato da altre recensioni negative con foto, del rischio di incorrere in questo grossolano errore di produzione e confezionamento. Così ho aggiunto le foto dopo aver aperto la scatola, che confermano quanto recensito negativamente, da altri. Per quel che costa, non vale la pena di rischiare.

   The Ship is brilliant and having made over a dozen similar ships even though the detailed instructions are in french I found it quite easy to assemble – the problem however is the Shroud which was not pre-fabricated – again I have made Shrouds myself but on this ship found it unworkable – I therefore have a ship built but unable to complete it.

   This will be the fourth time I have bought this excellent kit. (The first time was in 1971.) This builds a beautiful model right out of the box, without paint. Assembly is straightforward, from clear directions (even if they are in French) and a reasonably clever 12 year-old could build this model with only a little help from an adult.

   It’s a minor quibble, but the version pictured in the Amazon ad is not the same as the one I have received in the mail today. Mine came in a different (and, in fact, more appealing) box, and was molded in tan plastic, rather than the white and grey I had expected.

   But, for me, an excellent buy, at a price that was less than half of what I would have been willing to pay, and I expect many hours of enjoyment, assembling this perfectly lovely model.
