Description
Vallejo Imperial Japanese Navy Model Colors, 17-ml Paint
For modelers who are seeking paints that are both accurate and simple to use, the Japanese Navy Model Colors kit from Vallejo is an excellent option to investigate. A total of eight colors are included in the collection, each of which is necessary for painting aircraft belonging to the Japanese Navy from the time before the war until 1945.
Because all of the colors are acrylic and water-based, they are simple to clean up and work with. Additionally, they dry rapidly, which allows you to finish your models in a short amount of time. Additionally, the Japanese Navy model colors are extremely long-lasting, which means that they will continue to be used for many years to come.
One of the most excellent aspects of the Japanese Navy Model Colors is the precision with which the colors are rendered. Vallejo has made a tremendous effort to ensure that the colors match those that the Japanese Navy actually uses. This indicates that you may have full confidence that the models you create will accurately reflect historical events.
The fact that this set is so simple to utilize is just another wonderful feature. Therefore, you do not need to be concerned about mixing your own colors because all of the Japanese Navy Model Colors paints have already been blended. This facilitates the ease with which you can start painting your models right away.
The Japanese Navy Model Colors set from Vallejo is, all things considered, an excellent option for modelers who are searching for colors that are both authentic and simple to work with. This kit provides you with everything you need to paint your models to the highest possible standard.
Here is a more detailed look at the individual colors included in the set:

I haven’t used it yet, but I’ve ordered before. Never had a problem with Vellejo Model Air Paint.

Paints arrived timely and were well packaged. The box has examples on the back of different paint schemes applied to different model aircraft, as a sort of quick reference guide. Important note, these ARE from Vallejo’s Model Air line of paints, intended for use through an airbrush. That is not to say they can’t be brushed on, but they are of a thinner consistency than other paints from vallejo.

As a gift set for a modeller starting in Japanese planes, it’s a great set. For those that just need the unique color Aotake Blue, buying a whole set sucks and my rating reflects that. Plus, there really is no cost savings here versus buying individual bottles.
Adding a picture as a heads up, translucent blue is akin to a wash. I wish they had mentioned something about that, rather than me wasting time figuring out its properties to use it properly with an airbrush.
As a modeller that started in brush painting miniatures first, I’d really recommend just creating your own wash of an equivalent color, I don’t think the results using an airbrush match the very repeatable, quality results you get with other Vallejo Air colors. If you insist on using this Aotake Blue, I’d still recommend thinning it a but and applying it by hand rather than airbrush. The results will be more controlled and and you can decide if the resultant mottled properties will match the scale of your model.
Hopefully the pic gives you a general idea of what to expect so you can apply it in a more anticipated way.
