So let me start by saying the Ford GT is my favorite car. So I was super excited to do this. And it’s almost perfect. The only issues I have is that once it’s built, it doesn’t “pop” and “click” into place at all. And what I mean by that is, when you pull the interior lever to raise the rear spoiler, it doesn’t have any sort of satisfying click or pop into place. It just limply lifts up. And when the spoiler is lowered back down, again, it doesn’t click or pop into place. It just of of rests in position. Same thing with the doors. There is this ingenious hinge so the door can open vertically, but when the open they don’t snap into an open position. They just sort of stop there. When you close the doors, they just sort of rest in position. Not closed sturdy. Just floppy like. Except for those things, I think the car is great. I’ll add a short video soon to show what I mean.

I was originally hesitant that it was Technic and not original Lego, but now I’m sold on Technic and am looking for my next build.

I bought this as a project to build with the “help” of my six year old. He ended up doing most of the building himself actually but don’t think that means it was an easy build. We both really enjoyed it and it was a great learning experience on how an engine works or how a suspension articulates. The finished product is pretty cool and I want to get another car to build!

This was a fun build, with some odd choices on Lego’s part. I like the normal Lego models over the Technic models, but since there is no normal Lego Ford GT, this is a good alternative.
