Horrible small not worth the money not worth the time to put it together

Even 3 stars is optimistic for this inferior kit. The 1/1200 scale Yamato by Revell is a far superior model in every way.

More realistic, much more detailed, and even an easier build.

And the less said about the carrier the better. It doesn’t look anything like the Zuikaku (the last of the 6 carriers that attacked Pearl Harbour to be sunk).

What it does look like is the company got confused between the Fleet carrier Zuikaku and the light carrier Zuiho, couldn’t make up their minds and gave up before they were finished so ended up with a mish-mash of both.

The only reason I even know this is because a local store had a closeout sale on these kits, for under $10 (including taxes!) so thought it would be a neat start for my grandson.

Serious modelers need to ignore this scale entirely and get both ships in 1/700 scale.

Quality of Lindberg models is way below those of Revell

This model of the Zuikaku is NOT to scale in 1:1200 as represented by The Lindberg Line. The actual length of the Zuikaku aircraft carrier was 845 feet. At 1:1200 scale, the model length should be 8.45″ (approx. 8 and 1/2 inches). The model length, however, is only just short of 7.5″. (to find scale, multiply the real ship’s feet by 12 to get the total number in inches, which in this case is 10,140 inches. Then divide 10140 by the scale, which is 1200). Thus, the real scale of this model is 1:1352 scale (10,140 divided by 7.5). Moreover, the model itself is not accurate and is lacking much detail of the real Zuikaku. See the review by another customer noting this as well.
