My 10 year old grandson is just starting out building modeling kits. This kit was a little bit too detailed for him to put it together by himself and also painting it. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and there are lots of little pieces! It’s a good set for him to get used to modeling kits and the end result is really nice or awesome as my grandson says. It has everything you need and even though it was a bit difficult for him to put together, it still was a lot of fun for him.

My husband has been building models since his childhood. His favorite kits were the Universal Monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, Phantom of the Opera, etc.) originally issued by Aurora in the 1960s and 1970s. Over the past 20 – 25 years, Polar Lights has re-issued many of the old Aurora models and my husband is collecting them all. These are just as detailed as the originals and offer the same challenges and rewards for the dedicated model-builder.
As a bona-fide Disney addict, I personally dig the fact that this one was inspired by my favorite WDW attraction – the Haunted Mansion. One thing that makes this model unique is that it has moveable parts, too. Something my husband says he hasn’t encountered before.
If you’re a seasoned model-builder or just getting your feet wet and prefer something more interesting and (dare I say it?) less macho than planes, trains and automobiles, Polar Lights sets the standard.
