A scaled down version of the flower class Corvette, these brave little ships did a valiant job in protecting convoys along side the destroyers and frigates. A nice little model that is half the size of revell 1/72 ex matchbox kit. Just wish they did a frigate or destroyer to go with it, a 1/144 scale HMS Zulu would be amazing and very popular in 1/144 scale.

A very detailed kit, great instruction booklet. Very Good parts fit. Not a difficult kit to build for an experienced modeller, but would not recommend it to a beginner, or to someone with poor eye sight, as there are some very small parts. Only one small niggle, why do Revell use this type of box with opening ends? I don’t like that at all. I would highly recommend this kit, it builds into a great looking model, straight from the box

Lots of parts. In some cases the molding could have been thinner and more precise. In any case, will make a good model.

I needed 2 attempts to join the hull halves, the second by doing so in stages and using plenty tape. It is not suitable for a beginner given the number of parts involved and the small size of many. The detailing of the parts is better than the in the 1:72 scale kit which is a re-release of an old kit first sold under the Matchbox label. The instructions are comprehensive but there is a couple of part labels that are wrong and some parts have several joins to the sprue so lots of extra trimming required and some recesses need filling which is why I didn’t give the kit 5 stars. Unlike the 1:72 kit which can be constructed as different vessels, this one can only be assembled as HMCS Snowberry. The design of the different sprue and the way that the stern of the hull is a part in its own right all suggest that the kit might be released to suit different corvettes in the future. I will certainly look forward to making one if they do.

There are over 500 pieces, and every single one needs to be painted. So plan on painting a lot. And make sure you have forceps, because some of those pieces are very small. I’ve been working on this model for at least 40 hours, and I am not done yet. So if you want a detailed model that has really good fit and finish and will keep you occupied for a long time, this is it!

An excellent kit of a mid-war Flower class corvette. Very highly detailed and the best depiction of a hedgehog mortar that I’ve seen in any scale. One thing that I would change is the listing of paint needed. Revell Germany uses their paint numbers only. Cross referencing with other manufacturers’ paint or listing by FS number would help. Also, the decal on the gun house should have a blue background. O

This model is 17 in long not 43 in . 43 is cm . I have been waiting till I finished to continue my review. A very interesting model of a neglected subject. Extreme details. But, if there is a slot to connect a piece it’s not going to fit. If there is a small hole to put a piece in that won’t fit either. The instructions are good once you get used to them. Please don’t fit the rudder when connecting the hull halfs. It’s extremely flimsy. I figured I should watch videos of assembly and watch him break the rudder also.im not going to build another from this company during the pandemic

It is challenging but within my model building skill level. I prefer building wooden models but many have poor, incomprehensible or non-existent instructions

Great model at a good price. Interested in history of Canada and it will be a great addition to m y collection.

A really challenging kit which looks brilliant when completed. Some of the parts are incredibly small and therefore difficult to fit, and it would be impossible to rig the model as shown on the plans due to the extremely fragile nature of the tiny railing stantions and other minute fixing points. Some of the instructions shown on the plans are difficult to follow.
Having said all that, the finished model is extremely detailed and looks most impressive. Providing you have plenty of time and patience it is quite addictive and enjoyable to build. A little weathering finish really brings it to life. Definitely a bit fiddly but well worth the money.
