I had no experience with model ship building but have built dozens of stick airplanes over the years.
A lot of reviews say the instructions are useless.
The information is all there but it does take some interpretation to understand it.
    I’m happy with the result.
I do agree with those who say it is not a kit for beginners but if you have a good level of model building experience it’s well worth the low cost.

  2. Rick K

I really enjoyed working in this model, and I am quite happy with the result (as you can see in the pictures).
You need to be patient because the explanations provided are not very clear and complete, but with using some logic, you can figure it out.
    Steady hands are required,
I would not recommend to beginner, but otherwise for the price it is a very good value.

Muy buen diseño, partes completas y con buena terminación.

  4. MARK WALLIS

This was a model which would use all of my model building experience. It is not for the beginner instructions are enough to get through the model but be careful they will throw you a curve ball if you don’t look at them carefully. I ordered some brass cannon which look better than the wood it comes with. All in all it was a very enjoyable model to make.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. He hasnt started putting it together as we need to get some kind of glue for it. I also got him some tools. Hes pretty excited to start.

This little kit has very poor instructions compared to the more “professional” kits that are closer to $100. This kit assumes you know to plank a hull. It assumes you know some basics of rigging. But if you believe you’re a bit intuitive for such a build I would build it. If you go into it knowing that it’s not going to come out perfect then it’s ok JUST DONT let it talk you out of the hobby. This kit is NOTHING like a real quit will provide as far as instructions, materials and overall experience. This is more for you to get a feel of if you’ll enjoy building this type of wooden model kit.

  7. Bruno

Over-all, an excellent value for the price. None of these wooden models have actual instructions, only drawings. Laser cut parts are very good fit. Good starter ship, but definitely look up some YouTube videos on assembly (there are lots of this exact model!!). The tips will be worth it!!

Should have paid attention to the reviews but I thought “how bad can it be?’ Well we found out. Instructions are so lacking and confusing we wound up throwing it away. Such a disappointment.
