Fantastic deal and quality of the blood is fantastic, the rust is realistic and puke is simply wonderful. Rotten white does seem to be just basic white paint.

Thought I was getting “special effects” products, as Vallejo is famous for their cool textures and advanced products for mini painting. Maybe some glossy blood goo, verdigris texture, rust flakes, etc. It has “chipping medium” but otherwise just the same acrylic paints you get in any of their larger color kits. So if the only effect you want is chipping off other colors for weathering, I guess that’s cool. Blood, rust, etc. all work fine for that effect, but no need to buy this whole set if you already own basic colors. Just get chipping medium on its own. Is this set really meant to be for a painter who doesn’t already own two shades of red or one shade of brown?!

Wanted a few different effects on miniatures quickly and these seemed to cover them. I watched a few videos on their use which helped, and after a couple of tries I got the hang of most of the colors/effects. I am hoping to find use for the last couple that I haven’t used. If you want to get these effects without a lot of time or using various effects then these should help you add a little detail on your miniatures.

I love Vallejo paints. This set is great for the specific project that the guide depicts. Otherwise, I found myself not using 3-4 paints out of the set (rotting white just looks like matte white to me).
