  1. Chris

Excellent model with great details. Take your timing doing it and you’ll have great results.

  2. Surfman

Not much to dislike about this model although a great deal of patience is needed but the finished bike is worth all of the effort.Probably the most satisfying model I’ve attempted but a word of warning it’s as well not to attempt it if you are a first time modeller

  3. E.M.

It’s amazing the detail Tamiya manages to put into these small scale models! This is an excellent kit for an experienced builder and Ducati Panagale fan! If you’re good at details, this turns out beautiful! You’ll need lots of different paints. I even drilled the rotors successfully! There’s a lot of info online about building it, and I’ll bet you won’t regret this project! A bonus is you will learn a lot about how the full-size bike is made. An amazing bike-and an excellent kit.
Also-check out the 1299 kit in 1/4 scale by Pocher…..my next project and the ultimate build!

Great quality, very detailed, highly recommended, but not for beginners.

Tamiya model kits are the best out there – another perfectly detailed plastic assembly kit.

Another great addition from Tamiya. As expected with these models, everything is accurate and easy to follow. Just take your time with it.

This is an amazing model of you spend time detailing it. For one it doesn’t come with carbon fiber decals so you have to supply them yourself. Plus some of the paints suggestions are not the normal ones.

There is a lot of painting and requires a lot of skills and patience. Finally some of the steps are vague so you need to study the instructions very well before start building.

I haven’t seen a Pearl white one around so here is mine. I did buy the upgraded front forks. Overall with the model, tools, paints, etc, I spent about $200. I’d definitely do it again. As mentioned in other reviews, the detail in this model is amazing!

I have assembled other projects, that for the most part went together as advertised. This model is different story. I bought and have used bottle and spray paints from Tamiya. I understand paints can be hard to apply, sometimes. These paints I bought from different vendors are old, will not mix, quality control is missing, if you use a bottle paint of one color, then buy the spray version of the same color from Tamiya, there is a slight color tone between each paint. X-18 is supposed to be semi gloss black. The paint is more gloss, when able to apply by brush. TS-29 is the same paint color, yet that paint is more a true semi gloss paint. The plastic tubing for brake and fuel lines is way to small to slide over the nipples. Worse I have not been able to find a replacement. Directions are not clear on assembly steps. That’s left to guess work. Even matching screws up to size shown on Directions some need to be smaller, some longer. My decals are old, will not easily slide off sheet, or glue refuses to activate. Worse, if you lose or ruin a screw head, good luck finding a replacement. Also, be warned. This is a soft plastic. Even the thicker pieces are soft, and will snap off if not careful where you place your hand. The models I have assembled, the plastic was hard, workable, not easily broken. This month six of a three month build, yet only half assembled. First time I have a project fight me each step of painting, assembly, or finding paint. Maybe it’s me, but I feel others may have experienced the same maddening, hair pulling problems. This in the end, whenever that is, is not my best work by a long shot.

I got this yesterday. Shipping date was acceptable, but the box was open and damaged. It appears that the contents are fine. For some this is probably a nit-pick, but if I bought this kit from a store, I would leave the open and damaged kit on the shelf and get the one that was sealed and undamaged. I would have expected this kit to come inside another box surrounded by cushioning. It was actually just protected by the paper wrapper.
All that aside, I’m really looking forward to building the Panigale as the other Tamiya MC kits I have built are based on MotoGP bikes. Nice to have something based on a bike off a showroom floor.

This is a very nice and detailed model, but there are a lot of required items that are not included. For one, there are 21 required paints that are all hard to find and costly. I used a bunch of paints that were not from tamiya. But it turned out excellent.
