Tamiya have a well-deserved reputation for very high quality hobby products and this one delivers yet again !
Mr. T stands about 7″ tall and 13″ long – the included 2″ figure of an ‘explorer’ wishes he’d never heard of Jurassic Park – the 6″ x 12″ scenic base is almost a little playset unto itself and the box even contains parts for making sago palms, including wire and special paper with instructions on how to cut the leaves.

molto bello sia come materiale che come diorama

I’ve been modelling for 40 years and built all the early Tamiya dinosaurs as a child a few of which I still have however I would’ve been in Dino heaven as a child with this kit.
The usual excellent Tamiya quality is obvious with incredible attention to detail, every wrinkle and fold in the skin is crisp and clear and this model can be built in different ways, with an open or closed jaw and in a walking or stationary pose.
Using a little Milliputt or similar modelling putty to fill small join lines will make a big difference, although it is a high quality model every dinosaur model will have the occasional unrealistic gap somewhere. Tamiya is no exception.
I do go a bit over the top by carefully recarving and shaping any wrinkles or folds that have been lost in the filling/sanding stage but it leads to a seamless very realistic looking animal, your imagination is the limit with painting but as Tyrannosaurs are believed to be ambush hunters I go for dappled or striped effects that break up the animals outline in forest fringes.
I use Vallejo acrylics thinned by 50% and airbrushed, this method ensures all the fine details are not lost under layers of thick paint.
This is an excellent model of the greatest hunter to ever stalk our planet and is not just for kids.
I bought this model from Toy Shop Japan Hobbyzone, so a highly recommended model kit from a highly recommended seller.

The model has become a diorama. The details of the skin are quite amazing. It was enjoyable to assemble.

Makes up into a nice scary Rexi! Goes together reasonably well; although, the main leg connections are a bit crude and need some work. Apart from that; very nice. The inclusion of a ‘human hunter’, which I placed just under scary’s jaws is a nice touch.

I bought this for a dinosaur crazy friend and he loves it. Tamiya always does great models.
