Delivery was late and I had a feeling…. My box was severely damaged. Upon inspection I found the actual model appears to be in good condition – thank Trumpeter for packaging their models so well – NOT UPS for sure!! From my inital looks at the kit it seems to be just what I ordered and really beautifully made.

  2. Ethan Boggs

This is a great ship model, well worth the price in my opinion. Had little to no trouble fitting the parts together and with the photo etch kits included you can super detail it. Have never been more pleased with a product.

  3. Charles Crowder

Large model with highly detailed parts. There is no real reason to purchase an expensive photo etch upgrade for this model; the included photo etch parts are superb. I would suggest a wood deck from scaledecks.com (also purchasable through Amazon). My only real complaint (and the only thing keeping this from a five star rating) is that there is no instructions for the included photo etch railing leaving the builder to figure it out; there is, however a great deal of railing to work with.

I received the Trumpter Nelson a few days ago, and the level of detail LACKING on Bismark (hull, especially) is disappointing! Nelson has hull plates engraved down to bilge keels–which must be added on both ships! In addition, the Bismarck has a HUGE piece missing from the bow end of the hull, which must be glued on separately!!! WHY?? Well, at least, with NO details, that cement line can at least be sanded/filled in!
I ordered the Mk I Superdetail kid with wooden deck. I assume that will help erase the Bismark’s hull shortcomings.
It is understood that Missouri and Bismarck are/were some of the first two ships released in this huge 1/200 scale. (Arizona may have been first, and as I have that model, too, I can attest to NO hull details either, BUT the Arizona was made with a two piece hull so you could model it as a “waterline” model! Like I said, until I get the full superdetail kit, AND research what the Bismarck looked like (camo-scheme-wise) on her final, fateful voyage, I will not be painting it as suggested! When finished, it should be an IMPRESSIVE model, if you don’t look too closely at the hull!!

This thing is Massive, 50 inches long, Yikes !!
Way Beyond any smaller 1/350 kits,
1/200 is by far the Best scale for any Warship models !!
    You’ll love it !!
