    A friend of mine is a model enthusiast. He offered to put it together for me, and the finished, painted job is amazing. I find myself looking at it a dozen times a day, remembering one detail or another about having served in the 1970’s. (My boat was the 633, but this 616 Class was close enough for government work, as they say.)

    In progress build for a friend who served in one of the class. Low parts count. Decent detailing. Had to reinforce upper/lower hulls with plastic card strips. Roughly 14.5 inches (368.3mm) long. I’ve built half a dozen of these Micro-Mir kits and they are quick builds that are accurate, require minimal effort and look good when finished.

    Many years ago I worked on the Lafayette so I my have some insight as to what I was looking for. The model was a challenge to put together. A lot of adjustments needed to be made in order to make it fit properly.
