I got these pretty quickly when I ordered them and they were pretty good for painting up a darksouls expansion set I had gotten for a friend for christmas, took a lil mixing on some paints to get them good since unless you get every paint under the sun you should probab;y mix the paints to get a more desired hue. Paints were pretty good, the black I got was a lil thick coming out but it wasn’t too much of an issue especially since I mostly use it for mixing to get a darker shade of another color or just mix with water to make a dark wash for getting into cracks for details that I want to look deeper than they are without needing to paint for super duper long.

Great deal rn especially if you’ve been to a hobby store you should know for $30 on the sale it is rn you’re getting 16 paints for the cost of 6, if these goes back to it’s regular price it’s pretty much going to be comparable to buying at a hobby store so maybe best to support a local one if you don’t care about savings.

I’ve got a couple of complete lines of Vallejo paints already but have just recently started collecting the Model Color line. The box had a great selection of paints. I have picked up another 10-12 colors from H*by L*bby. I’ll pick up a few here or there, but the Model Color line will take a while to get them all. As long as I can get sets with little overlap, I’ll buy those first.
The quality of the paints so far have been great. I have had a couple over the last year or 2 that were not mixed properly and have had to buy replacements. I haven’t had any of the ones from this line that were bad yet.

So far I am very pleased with this set of colors. It has a good range of colors for an addition to one’s paint line up or as a starter set. The paints are very smooth and have great coverage over a primed metal or plastic miniature.

I only have two complaints. The first is the bottles, though they are easy to use and one can squeeze out a drop at a time, sometimes air bubbles get caught in the bottle and upon the next time opening, a lot of paint squirts out. One has to make sure that when closing the bottle that no bubbles occur.

My second complaint is that the “flesh” color is much too yellow, almost like a tinted leather. So I would suggest having another caucasian tone available on hand.

Just like my title states. What sucks is that rather than using a toothpick to push the dried paint through I squeezed it a little too hard that the bottle dropper tip exploded off an about %25 of the paint in the bottle plopped out onto my paint dish. Lesson learned. This was my first time miniture painting and decided to use it on my 1/60 PGU RX-78-2 Amuro Ray Pilot as seen in photo. The colors are super rich and only required 1 single coat. I’ve had bad experiences with Vallejo airbrush paint but some people convinced me that their paintbrush paints were excellent and not too expensive. If this Medieval set included an Orange color it would have been absolutely perfect. I can however mix the red and yellow to make my own orange if and when the need arises. Great stuff with my only complaint being the hardened paint in the tip of one of the bottles.

They are good for 3D prints (you need to put on a few layers).

The color set it’s great but the box came destroyed, don’t know what happened…

  7. Luis

    Perfect for my 40k minis

I bought this set because I am just starting to paint miniatures for my D&D games. This set had everything I needed and was the right price. Good value, good condition.

I bought these paints for my other half. He has always used enamel paints for his model painting but decided to try the acrylics for a change. We had a look around some of the miniature model forums and generally the opinion was that the Vallejo acrylics were the ones to go for.

I believe he is now a convert. The colour selection in this set is great and the packaging of the bottles is wonderful. The little dropper is very good at moderating how much paint is released and protecting the paint from drying out. The colours once applied to the white metal model he used are quite vivid and he says they are very easy to use and apply.

Just received my paints. They are perfect! No leaks. Haven’t used yet, but came with a great endorsement. Looking forward to using them in my airbrush.

  11. Amazon Customer

Beautiful colours for “Medieval” use. Well, you get some great shades of colour here and the metals are very good indeed!

  12. Lee Drury

So far I have never been disappointed with a purchase from the Vallejo paint collection, and I have quite a few of these now. They are consistently excellent quality, with clean colours and lots of choice and option. Once mixed these spread evenly without streaking, they dry quickly and work well. Mixing the paints for different colour combinations is easy and with the eye-dropper bottles, it is easy to maintain a consistent colour mix.

The paint is really good but the package arrived heavily damaged. I think it should be wrapped with more protection / care
