Ever since I returned to modelling, I have wanted to do a King Tiger tank, but was put off by the high asking price for 1/35 scale kits. I decided to go to the other extreme and opt for a 1/72 scale model.
This Zvevda offering is a snap fit and very well engineered, It was a quick build and no fit issues were experienced. The kit has 86 parts. Despite the small scale there is a good amount of detail, (for example,all the tools come as individual parts) and the finished result is more than acceptable..
Although, in theory, no glue is required, I should have glued the front tow hooks, which I managed to lose while I was assembling the hull, I shall have to try and scratch build some replacements. I would recommend that the small parts are glued.
The black and white instructions are adequate, but only one set of decals is supplied. When constructing the tracks, the instructions should be followed carefully as the tracks can only be fitted one way.
These Zvezda snap fit kits are good for beginners. I was pleasantly surprised by this kit which is good value for money and I am happy with the completed model. Recommended.

This piece of scrap kit has TINY pieces you need tweezers for, many of the holes where things are supposed to snap into place are too small, or the pegs to snap on are too big. I could not figure out how to secure the treads even with instructions. is complete rubbish.
