10 reviews for Academy B.C. 50 Roman Warship

  1. Cookie Mabuse

I purchased this specifically because I thought it was NOT a model. I went back to review the order and I couldn’t find anything that said “assembly required” or “this a model”. This should be made clearer. A needless waste of my time, effort and $30.

  2. Alan P. Damiano

Very displeased with this model on the whole. The instructions are unclear and almost non-existent. The kit lacks a parts list, and the visual cues in the instructions are pathetic. The ONLY reason I didn’t return this model was because I hate to return things. I only hope I can figure where everything fits and the proper order of building this model. I do not recommend this model in fact I plan to avoid all models sold by Academy. I just thought about another issue: no contact # is provided for the company.

A fine model… rigging was a challenge for me. there are no decals, but then again, I make my own. I wish they would release the same model cast in gold plastic. made a fine presentation gift when completed.

Muy muy acertado… y relativamente sencillo!

  6. Bill Morales

I received my model as promise. I have not started the model yet, but it looks to me a very detailed model, no decals, which is not a problem for a modeler like me. For the price, this is a good deal! There are not enough models of the Roman era available in the market. I will give 4 points of 5 due to the fact of accuracy, because it is a republican ship and it does not have the Roman Corvus or boarding ramp used by the roman army.
Other than that is ok for me. When I finish the model I will post a picture of the model finished with soldiers on it.

  7. Harold Alexander, Jr

A really fun model to build. Requires a LOT of painting, Assembly is straightforward, directions are reasonably good. Pieces fit together well. Model is approx. 15″Lx8″Wx10″T. I recommend this model highly, although I have no idea how closely it resembles a Roman warship of circa 50bc.

  8. Cliente Amazon

lenta la consegna, arrivato con 3 giorni di ritardo rispetto il giorno previsto, Il modello ha di suo il prezzo contenuto ma non lo ricomprerei visto il ritardo nelle consegne

  9. Arthur W. Macon

Academy has produced a winner if you’re a fan of ancient warships. Historical accuracy aside this kit is easy to build and fun to paint. The plastic is rather soft for liquid glue and can melt quickly if you apply to much. So be careful when attaching the oars. The sails are hard plastic and easy to install. There are no decals provided so breakout the paint bottles for more fun. The base is very attractive and adds to the look. Overall a great kit to build and add to your collection. I rated this 4 out of 5 because of the accuracy issue.
