The engineering of the fits and the details of this kit are well done. The assembly went together with minimal putty required to cover fit mis-matches. The kit gets a 4 star instead of a 5 as it is impossible to add enough weights to prevent the plane being a tail sitter when you display it. Also two of the windows are called out by the directions on a sprue which does not exit and the machine gun ammunition pouch by the bombardier is called out from a non-existent sprue.

What I love about this kit is that it is in 1/72 scale. As for the accuracy of the kit, it’s very close to the Doolittle Raid planes but some minor changes must be made for it to be perfect. The one item that is a downer is that the decals only allow you to build the “Hari Carrier” plane but they do tell you that going in. So, if you are looking to build a different plane you will have to purchase other decals. Overall, the kit is very nice and perfect for a diorama because of the scale. I am going to have to do some real detail checking though for colors and such. Some of the small windows are the wrong shape but still that’s correctable. I can’t wait to start it. It will be a fun build.
