Box came in ripped up. Thankfully the product inside the box was in one piece. And hubby didn’t want the box to store it in. The plastic stick that holds it kinda sucks. The front of the Enterprise is very heavy. No weight in the back, which is where the plastic stick will be placed at. If you barely touch it or the shelf shakes a smidgen it falls over. Short of super gluing it, that’s the only way it’ll stay up.

i’ve ordered several eaglemoss models over the last year, and this is the first one that didn’t come broken or with a serious flaw. i was beginning to think all eaglemoss produced was broken models or ones with serious defects.

the scaling issue with eaglemoss models becomes apparent when you have all the enterprises from you. the D is the largest, but only by a small margin, the nx and C are about the same size, only be a little bit smaller than the D. The E is actually the smallest out of all of them. now i’m sure this is due to cost, cause if they were all scaled to on the same scale, the nx would prolly be too small to have any real detail on and the D would be prohibitively expensive, but then again its not like the show could ever really be bothered to get scaling right either :).

all in all, i’m generally pleased with this model.

I have purchased several models from Eaglemoss and this is the first one I have had any issues with. It is one of Eaglemoss’ larger models and it is very detailed. While the saucer section of the ship seems sturdy enough, the warp nacelles are just a touch delicate. They have not been attached to the rest of the ship properly and one had even split lengthwise along the join between the two pieces. That being said, however, a bit of glue seems to have corrected the problem quite nicely.

The nacelles look a little sus and glue is a bit too apparent but you really have to look for that to notice it.

I love the NX-01, especially for the price. I’d say it’s a pretty accurate model, except for maybe the yellow parts, which isn’t a big deal. The nacelles came attached already, which was a concern for some other reviewers. One nacelle looks slightly off in direction but it might actually be my perspective. It’s not noticeable in most viewpoints. Looking to see if I can get a good deal on the Discover version of the Enterprise from the same company.

  6. Kid Kyoto

This is a nice collectors’ model of the NX-1 Enterprise from the TV show of the same name. It’s metal and heavy and well painted. It also comes with a magazine talking about the ship and its history.

I’m not a big fan of that particular show but got it to ‘complete the family’ sitting on my shelf. If you’re a Star Trek fan in general or Enterprise fan in particular it’s a good buy.

I’ve been steadily collection a small fleet of this tiny Star Trek ships from Eaglemoss and I’d say that out of my collection this is so far the best of looker of the ships so far. The mold itself is crisp with well defined panel lines that really pop when combined with the metallic paint job. The aztecing also reflects differently and as result will appear to have a higher contrast when viewed from different angles which looks really nice in person.

If you are familiar with the Eaglemoss line of Star Fleet ships you know that they typically will have a die-cast saucer while the remainder will be from plastic. Sadly this often results in the nacelle pylons being fragile and easily bent out of alignment or broken. I’m glad to report that this model is 95% die-cast including the pylons with only the actual nacelles being plastic. While the design of Star Trek ships is prone to being delicate this helps a great deal with keeping things from damaging during shipping.

I’d say that whatever your feelings for the ship or the show, if you’re looking to see what the “high bar” is from Eaglemoss to pickup this model.

It’s die cast for the saucer section, the nacelles are plastic. It’s made well but one of the nacelles on mine is separated in the front. Pretty easy fix with some super glue just not what you want with a new product. So 4 out of 5 stars.
