Hello Moopi –
This was my husband’s first 3D metal model attempt and he had a great time building it. The instructions were clear. This was just the right amount of challenging for a beginner. Be sure to buy the recommended tools before starting (tweezers, mag-light, clippers). We’ve since bought several more kits to build and are still thoroughly enjoying it.

Delicate and challenging. Definitely recommend using flush cutters to remove the pieces from the sheets. You need patience – the pieces are tiny. Easy to break by mistake but fairly sturdy once assembled.
Lovely to look at the finished piece – wouldn’t touch it now just in case another buttress comes off. Again.

Love Big Ben and this was fun to build, just make sure you have cutters to remove parts and some will twist and break if you try to bend them out.

Easiest ICONX model I’ve made. 👍🏼 Finished in about 2-3 hours. My other ICONX models I’ve made (Notre Dame and Saint Basil Cathedral) took about 8 hours each.

Well this was my second one, the first one I did was the Cyberman. Compared to this one it was so easy. This one came out good very detailed but worth it,definitely patience and also the directions were a little vague. You have to almost jump ahead in some steps just to see if it’s easier to attach them before putting together four walls, once the tabs are bent it’s hard to separate them. Everything is very delicate. I took pictures but I’m not sure how to post them. Also this one has extra pieces luckily they’re the most delicate ones…

First I have to say the finished product is quite cool. I purchased this for my 9 year old who was doing a report on Big Ben, I expected to help him but for the most part I had to do the majority of the assembly. It is quite tedious and delicate work at the same time rewarding. The instructions are kind of vague but the biggest gripe I have with it is there is no guide on how to remove the pieces from the metal sheet. I looked on youtube but the videos were of no help. In the end I ended up using some small nail clippers the ones that look like wire cutters. I would also recommend having a small metal rule to help with shaping the parts. I think it took me about six hours to assemble.

I like most of Metal Earth products and have made about 20 of them. This is a good one too.

The husband is a mechanical engineer so these are perfect for him. He absolutely loves to put these little models together and increase the complexity as he buys more. We must have a dozen of these around now and will continue to purchase as they relaxing to him. If you love to tinker with mechanical things and don’t mind little intricate pieces this is right for you.
