More complicated than anticipated from description/reviews. Mostly because for the size of the final product, it didn’t really mention how small the package/pieces would be. Still, an interesting build (with ample swearing going on)

Not built it yet but recipient was very pleased

My boyfriend is a plane fanatic an the piper cub is his favourite. He is over the moon with this. He’s spent every day since Christmas fiddling with it instead of me.

Building and flying model airplanes is an excellent way for young people to learn and gain confidence. This hobby sparked my interest in design, engineering, construction, and so many other important concepts.
This kit, and the other “600 series” kits are the best for beginners. They use “Simple Build by Number” instructions.
Paul K Guillow has been in business since 1929. The Guillow kits are the best by a large margin. They have the best design, materials, instructions and support. Nothing else comes close.
See the Guillow web site for great information about the hobby, including FAQs and a link to a forum where you can read or post information.

Nice kit. The rating stated 10 and up but I think this is way to detailed for a 10 year old. It will take quite a bit of time to complete the wings of this model.

Only gripe was that the balsa was not all of the same grade which made building the fuselage was really out of shape and need lots of playing about with.

nice little plane for the money… I propose to convert it to electric power!

This is my Grandsons first flying machine. He begins the same way as did I in 1958. A rubber band glider assembled to capture my imagination and teach me to let my vision soar into the clouds and my heart to follow….

Great way to get hours of entertainment out of $11. I remember making balsa models as a kid and wanted to make another one so got this as a beginner kid and had great fun with it. It’s refreshing to open up a box and find some simple balsa, tissue, plastic prop, a rubber band and some instructions and know you’re going to make a plane out of it. Easy instructions and good design.

Much more challenging for my 11 and 12 year old students to build on their own that I was led to believe.

The model arrived before the scheduled delivery date, kit is as described, although some models don’t have glue, paint or brushes to be able to complete them.
