I did not like this kit. The build was unnecessarily complicated. The wood supplied is of poor consistency and some is much too soft. The landing gear is poorly designed. The cowl is very fragile and will not last through the first bad landing. The kit received a good write-up in Model Aviation a number of months ago, but my experience with building and flying it was not good. A friend also built one at the same time, and it is my belief that he did not like this kit either.

Very nice model high quality product. The laser cuts are great!!

  3. Amazon Customer

Great kit built straight and flies well.

This is a great Kit. laser cut has made separating and fitting so easy compared to yesterdays of diecut or printed parts. Just a delight to assemble. perfect for my surgery recovery.

This is one of Guillow’s new kits and it is a good representation of the real thing! After having so much fun with the other new kits in the 300-series I thought I’d give this one a try. the packaging is exceptional with crisp laser-cut parts, excellent decals, and bright red tissue to make a Swiss AF rescue plane. If there was a criticism it would have to be the rubber-powered set-up. The kit builds to an impressively large model in approximately 1:24 scale. The layout sheet is exact and the instructions are crystal clear. Just pin, glue and cover. I reworked the tail wheel set-up substituting a spare styrene plastic wheel of the same diameter as the kit wheel. Instead of the bent coat hanger diagram in the box I made a lighter one out of soldered brass tube and sheet. I think it looks a lot better and it mounts more securely than the kit wheel. Pity there are no other marking options available for this airplane although the red tissue looks like a winner. I had fun putting the frame together and I’m waiting for my heat shrink covering to come in. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

Great model plane, accurate plans, nicely laser cut wood. Not a beginners model though

I bought this to compete in the Guillows Challenge. The person who sent it put it in a padded bag instead of a box, and the box was crushed, but thankfully the wood was not broken.

I bought this to build with my grandson. He couldn’t give a flip about it, but I sure enjoy it. Brought back many child hood memories.

  9. Eric Winchester

My first model plane from a balsa wood kit. One needs to be careful handling the thin pieces as I broke many. I decided not to cover the frame.
