very difficult and time consuming to put together and some pieces were broken.

High quality kit but it’s definitely not for novices or most kids. The parts are very precisely laser cut – which is great – but many are very small and delicate, so great care is needed while removing them from the sheets so they don’t break. Also, a couple of especially delicate parts were arranged in the sheet so the grain of the balsa ran across their weakest point, making it nearly impossible to separate them without breakage – that’s a design flaw.

I also didn’t like the fact that the landing gear wire is not pre-bent, and the anchor wire for the rubber band must be cut from the same piece.

CA glue is essential to bolster the strength of the delicate structure.

When it hit somewhere / ground, it broken easily.

  8. Rictus Yann

I was very excited when I saw this first as I thought it would be an awesome quick build. It is a great little kit and hope they come ut with a spitfire too but a word of caution – the balsa is extremely delicate!! Be very very careful. I have been making balsa planes for over 30 years and this requires very careful handling while building and not the quick build I hoped but a great little kit nonetheless.
