During the Vietnam War I served in HS-8 and worked on these aircraft. The I kit was fun to build and definitely one to add to your collection. The detail was spot on. Having this model represent a squadron that I served in just made it more fun

Accurate model, fun build

As an actual SH-3H (with tacnav) crewman with over 1200 hrs flight time. I enjoyed this model so much. Minor flaws but I didn’t care.

One of my favorite helicopters ever! The kit is beautiful with some photo etch parts, wonderful decal sheet for three different aircraft and quite large for a 1/48 scale model. Only down side is the doors are molded shut but can be cut open with a simple scribing tool. I loved this kit so much I bought a second one to add to the collection!

There was a minimal amount of fitting that needed to be done and overall it was a great build. There are a few pieces in the rotor head that are fragile so be very careful and if you want to put rotor head on once you finish fuselage I suggest building whole rotor head first to allow plenty of cure time so that it can be put on when u get to that step. Looks great

The Hasegawa Sea King is a great kit, if a bit too complex for young kids (some of the kit’s tiny pieces might be hard to work with). It can be built with rotors folded, as if in storage or on a carrier deck, if you want to display it on a shelf, or extended, as if in flight, if you’d rather hang it from your ceiling.
All the parts fit together easily, requiring no sanding; there were no conspicuous seams. The instructions were well illustrated and easy to understand.
There is a small fret of photoetch parts, which will require crazy glue to attach.
The enclosed decal sheet is large, well-printed and complete, but if you’re interested in doing something a little different with your Sea King, you have plenty of options, as this type has seen service with the air forces or navies of more than twenty countries.
If you want to add a Sea King to your model collection, buy one now. Hasegawa is discontinuing the SH-3H and reissuing this heli as new versions, in different boxes, selling at a much higher price.
