This Viper Die Cast model is absolutely incredible. The Main body is die cast and outer components a sturdy plastic. It’s details are fabulous and a must have for ANY serious BGS fan. It sits perfect on the stand and display. I will be looking for more of their models today.

The only thing I wish it had was the legs that could be plugged into small holes on the bottom if you want to have it ‘landed’ instead of floating on the model. Or you could pull them out and go with the floating display. But that’s just dreaming. Other than that, it’s perfection.

Very detailed and well built with a nice weight to it. I paid $100 for it, but I don’t think it’s worth that much.

Honestly I did not know how this would look in person. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box, which was nicely packed by the way, and pulled this baby out. It is much bigger than anticipated. Heavy, with nice weathering. Mine did not have any distortions at all. Wings and tail are straight as well as the guns. I will definitely go and get the Cylon Raider to match it. I also like how the canopy is a darker plastic so you do not get bothered by the lack of detail in the cockpit. For the price and quality, this is great and I do recommend it to BSG fans.

I am very impressed with this, it looks great it’s pretty solid it has a good weight. I haven’t really bought any toys or action figures for the last decade but I did buy a toy Quantum Mechanix Futurama Planet Express Ship and I’ve been looking at it for a couple of years thinking it’s pretty cool I think I would like some more cool ships. I was going to get an Enterprise but I saw this listed in the recommendations under it and thought that’s pretty cool and I always liked the Vipers, I was kind of afraid it would be garbage, there were some pretty negative reviews.
The quality of this definitely exceeded my expectations.
if this is an indicator of the quality of Eaglemoss toys/collectibles I’m going to have to find more shelf space.

  5. KP

It’s a nice display piece. Obvious seamlines.
Form overall is on point. The only places where this could be improved, cleaning the seamlines up so they go away, and more attention to paint details, to make it more real looking. But that’s nothing a quick paint wash wouldn’t fix over the details. Maybe some more dry brushing.

This is suitable for the average collection. And for the average collector, if you’re finding yourself asking, “should I get it?” The answer is. Yes. You should.

  6. Leslie

This is thing is well done, and I mean WELL done! Gorgeous. Although I bought it half way through the series, and then could not finish the series (cause it just went bad in Season 4), its still worth it for any display piece. Love it!

  7. mike

Great model. Good weight to it and a decent size too.

  8. Petra Rosa

This high quality model of the Colonial Viper (Mark II) brings back memories of the original Battlestar Galactica TV series. The model has authentic wear marks on it for realism, and is well constructed. The model looks great on its supplied stand, but could be displayed on a table or desk without using the stand.

Having just missed out when this was first released, I ordered this straight away when I came across it on this site. It was shipped on Feb 19th this year from America (standard delivery), and I was told it would arrive anytime between March 7th and March 16th. So imagine my happy surprise when it arrived unexpectedly on Saturday Feb 23rd.

The item was carefully packaged and secured inside a sturdy box, and there was no damage to the Viper Mk 2’s case. Carefully opening the case, everything inside was found to be present and correct, and the model itself was intact with no damage. It now sits proudly alongside the Viper Mk 1 (classic series) and the Viper Mk 7, and the Galactica herself.

Excellent service and worth every penny.

  11. Mark Elowitz

A bit expensive, but nice. Weighty and well done. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

  12. Kostadin Dimov

    Very well-made

I grew watching BSG and these models totally remind of me of staying up at night and watching the battles with the cylons. If you a a fan of the show invest in this piece. I’m a fan of the original series .. The stand required some slight adjustment so double check before putting it on whatever surface.
