My dad bought this for me as a present for completing my Advanced Placement test this year. For the price, it’s a pretty detailed model. Being experienced in modelling Israeli armor for the past year or so, I found the build enjoyable, and the outcome very rewarding. The kit itself is based off of Trumpeter’s line of T-54/55 tanks, which are certainly not known for their accuracy. If one opens the box expecting to find a precise kit, do not buy this model. If you really want to get a precise model, buy the newer, more expensive Tamiya Tiran 5.

If this is your first time building Israeli armor, do not paint the tank the recommended colors. Do some research first. The kit recommends a coat of two mixed paints to create a sand color camouflage. I recommend using Model Master’s Israeli Sinai gray, which seems to fit the period relatively well. Also keep in mind the decals are old, just like the kit, and will need some decal set liquid to keep them on.
Pros: Kit is pretty detailed and contains many parts to give a worthwhile build!
Cons: Kit is inaccurate in measurement for you mm maniacs! And, like any model, the kit has some inaccuracy regarding paint scheme and placement. I also found the instructions relatively confusing and jumbled at some parts.
