Fairly easy to build, considering the subject. Some shapes are difficult to model, and may be difficult for the manufacturer to overcome.
    Things I liked:
    – An excellent subject
    – It looks great when it’s done
    Not so good:
    – The round thing towards the top (part 13) is a real booger to get right. You need some experience with other models to get this right. You essentially end up creating a “toroid” (ie, a doughnut shape). That’s difficult! But it can look great if you succeed!!!
    – The tops of almost all the tower models, with their antennas striving to capture height, and records for tower height, all have a tendency to flop around. That’s a weakness with the shape and inability to make it stiff in such a small area, with so little material.

I took off one star because of the doughnut. The rest of it’s not too difficult.

Yeah no. I should have listened to others reviews… it’s just so hard to make pieces fit together because of all the bending you have to do. And It’s also important not to bend the pieces too much because they’re so fragile and break :(. But you have bend it around to make it fit. So it’s just impossible lol

  3. Somera

fun project! nothing to write home about, it probably will just become another trinket, but they are pretty cool, and I’m happy with the purchase!

Great puzzle. Arrived in great shape and it’s complete.

the pieces for the head are wobbly, will break and/or make it totally wobbly
the instructions include a huge mistake between steps 10 and 12, which will defintively mess up your work if you follow them!! the tabs of the head’s part to insert into the second round piece #10 must NOT be inserted in the inside hole-slots, but in the outside ones… the subsequent piece 12 has to be inserted using the inside hole-slots… I forced and broke everything trying to do the opposite as clearly and erroneously drawn on the instruction sheet!!

Please read instructions on the size of this model because the pictures are very deceptive. Contains very small sharp pieces. I would definitely not recommend this model for children. My 9 grandson wanted this because we always visit Toronto. We put the pieces together but it was very disappointing. We trashed it by the end of the day. A waste of time and money. I would not recommend nor will I buy from this supplier again.

I really like the Metal Earth series, but this particular model is too flimsy. There are a ton of parts at the top that require precise bending – if you re-bend one too many times (basically more than once), they will fall apart. Unless you’re bringing superglue into the equation, don’t expect the tower to stand straight up.

It should be emphasized who this product is intended for. It is definitely not for everybody. Specialized skills are required and specialized tool kit should not be “recommended” but mandatory. Wasted money.

The CN Tower is an extremely challenging model; even with tools, it doesn’t perfectly fit together in the end and I’m not sure it’s possible that it can. I had to scrap my first attempt and bought a second set that I managed to finish and the top part is still wobbly. I’ve included some tips below, if you want to attempt it.

    Tips/warnings:
    – The parts are extremely small and delicate and may require folding. Too much pressure or re-folding will cause it to break and the model is useless without superglue. I know this is supposed to be a no-tools model, but I really recommend a pair of small pliers for the delicate work.
    – Instead of going in the order of the instructions, put the model together in parts. This was the only way I was able to finish the second time, by learning from all the mistakes I made on my first attempt.
    – Just like a real tower do NOT add the spire (steps/parts 1-3) until the very end. Building onto this just makes the rest of the model really cumbersome to work with because the metal is so thin and it’s hard to keep flat/straight.
    – Parts/steps 5-7 is probably the most difficult section for multiple reasons– there’s folds in both Parts 5 & 6 that have to work together; even if you get it right, this is the part that makes the tower wobbly/unstable; trying to get it to fit may result in over-folding or re-folding, causing it to break and the model to become useless. I put together part 5 first, turned it upside down, added part 6, and then closed up with part 7.
    – Parts/steps 14-17 is the other difficult section because the instructions tell you to put together all 6 pieces together simultaneously and that’s just not possible. I would say it’s a 2-person job, except the pieces are so small, that it would be impossible to work together on this. The tabs for these parts also slip out easy; as soon as you get two sides in and try to close it up, another side becomes loose. I ultimately had two connect two sides, connect it to the base, and then jimmy the third side as best I could. Even then, there was a gap, which I’ll just have to face towards the rear (see picture). Be prepared for a lot of back and forth here.

I give it 3 stars because I was able to build it in the end, but it definitely tried my patience and I’m sure I would have rated it significantly lower if I had to scrap my second set also.

I purchased this model alongside the Iconx Peacock model, assuming I could get my bearings on the CN Tower before moving to the much more complicated Peacock. I ended up giving up on the CN Tower, I had an immensely difficult time forming the rounded portion of the top, and absolutely could not get the base together with the weird angles.

Still a phenomenal model, I’m entirely okay with having paid for it and ultimately breaking it, but I would suggest this one for those pros who have the proper forming tools. MetalEarth should reconsider its difficulty rating

This left my hands cut up and its very difficult to assemble. The instructions are very good. The problem is that the sheet metal is so thin that the folding pcs kept breaking and in the end it was totally useless

This particular metal earth product has terrible reviews across the board. My review is strictly towards the product/metal earth and not the seller. It broke while trying to build, even with a magnifying lamp taking our time. It was so flimsy and poorly made, we also received it bent.
