The directions were vague and did not explain or have picture/diagrams to help. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

It is a little hard at first, and it did arrive late, I had bought two, and when they didn’t arrive for a week, I bought two more. It certainly was easier the third time making it, overall, it’s amazing and I just wish I was better at making these

  3. EJ

The difficulty rating on this set was accurate in my opinion. I have built about 50 of these Metal Earth models now and have a pretty good feel for the instructions & how the work flow goes. My only complaint, not even worth a star, is that they are at two different scales. If the Monitor was scaled down to the Merrimack’s scale, the model would be around 3/8″ shorter. Likewise, if the Merrimack were scaled up to the Monitor’s scale, it would be a little over 1/2″ longer.
Other than that, these are both pretty detailed models. They really look good in my collection.

This kit is not for beginners. Losts of small aggravating parts and bends. However, still fun to build and looks great complete.

  5. Catherine Riddle

    This was perfect!

    Fun piece of American history

I’VE BUILT MODELS SINCE I WAS A KID, IM ALSO A JEWELRY MAKER AND A US HISTORY TEACHER, I ACTUALLY BOUGHT TO BUILD TO DISPLAY IN CLASS…AN HOUR IN, I THREW IT ALL IN THE TRASH….IF THIS IS YOUR 1ST EXPERIENCE WITH METAL MODELS, TRY SOMETHING EASIER…NOT FOR BEGINNERS, DEFINATELY ADVANCED.
