The ship, which was designed to carry red matter into the heart of the Romulan sun, has an unusual design for STAR TREK and looks unlike anything before. The finished model measures 17.3 cm long by 14 cm tall.

I was a little disappointed that the model did not come with the magazine. However, the model itself looks great and now resides with my Eaglemoss ST Reboot section The price was perfect. I kind of wish that the center part rotated as it does on its onscreen counterpart. 🙂

Quite a departure from many of the starships shown in the Star Trek mythos, and one of the better designs we see in the Abrams movie. But lets face it- its distinguishing feature is the rotating spiral drive, and while this model/replica does look fantastic, its just a solid, static piece. There’s no articulation. And that missing feature unfortunately means I cant recommend it; pretty sure somewhere down the line, this will be re-issued with the rotating feature. It is, however and otherwise beautifully done piece of work.
