- The model recreates a parked aircraft.
- Richly-detailed depiction of the DB605A engine, a multi-part recreation. Engine cowlings can be depicted open to show off the beautiful rendering, complete with fine depictions of various auxiliary components. The cowlings can also be depicted as closed. Cowling and engine parts are attached via magnet to allow their exchange after the model has been assembled.
- Distinctive dual radiator flaps in wings can be depicted in up or down positions, or a combination of the two.
- Parts are included to recreate drop tank.

Tamiya hit a grand slam here. Yeah, it’s a bit pricy but worth every penny.
To start with, the amazing box are depicts Eric Hartman’s “Yellow 1” and his wing man. also has depictions of optional aircraft on the sides.
Once you open the box, this is what you will discover inside. Every parts tree is individually wrapped in it’s own plastic bag for protection. There are 4 gray plastic trees, and one clear tree. The decals are separate . The kit also comes with canopy masks.
very well done instructions along with a large full color “poster” with the paint schemes, the clear parts are as close to perfect as one can hope for.
Not the typical Tamiya decals with this Beast… There are markings for three separate aircraft with very nice color in register and seem to be quite thin (unlike older Tamiya kits). Another very cool option with this kit is that you can build both cowling open and closed and then switch them once built…..this is due to internally placed magnets.
The blue plastic bag contains a small set of washers,magnets and Tamiya poly caps.
You can also display your plane with a drop tank or not held in w polycaps.
The engineering and research that went into this kit is second to none……

La pena es que hay unos distintivos que deberían ir en la cola del avión y que por cuestiones legales no están incluidos. Habrá que buscarlos en otros paises donde no hay estas restricciones, tal y como he hecho otras veces.

great detail but it looks too small with 1/48 scale,and I still keep it but I buy a 1/32 scale with other brand name.
I will not buy any other fighter model at 1/48 scale ,it really too small. Tamiya is great

Another fantastic model from Tamiya. Love everything about it. Problem was that Amazon delivered it without ANY additional packaging. That’s right, the model was sitting on the front stoop with no protection what-so-ever. What the hell, Amazon? Take some pride in your work. Models from other sites arrive with more care. Will use them in the future.

This kit comes with pre cut masking for the canopies. Also allows for assembling the fuselage with out having the cockpit completed first. Very nice
