10/10. Well detailed and nice accessories. This model surpassed my expectations for quality, price and look. This is not the type of tank you’d like to meet in a dark alley! 🙂

  2. James A.

It is Tamiya. What do you expect, of course it is a well engineered model kit

This has always been my favorite Tamiya kit when it comes to the hobby of WWII tanks. Tamiya makes a superb product and I highly recommend this kit. This is the 4th kit of this particular tank I have purchased for my Ardennes diorama I’m working on. This kit comes complete with 3 figures, commander, loader, orderly and the famous German DKW NZ350 motorcycle. The kit has decals for 4 tank options with three of those being tanks that were sent to the Ardennes Front and one version that was sent to the Eastern Front. The four tank option #’s are; 008, 204, 332 and 555 with the first three being tanks sent to the Ardennes Front and the latter being sent to the Eastern Front. This seller is located in Japan and the kit came much faster than expected, less than three weeks from date of the order to the kit arriving today. I highly recommend this seller and I rate both the model & seller with 5 stars!

This model shows scale size and massive structure of this famous German Tank. It is a beast.
However l feel this kit would be difficult for a beginning modeler because of different stages of build, and application of zimmerit coating, if used.
If just build out box straight, a beginner would still have to pay attention of what procedure to do.
One drawback found this particular kit is that for some reason some parts seemed to be more brittle than others(?), and, was disappointed that tank tracks did not fit exactly right; had make adjustments.
Other than that is good model of this tank.

  5. Robert Hessler

typical Tamiya, easy to build, no issues, well made instructions, at all a nice kit of the famous german King Tiger tank, also included is the german courier motocycle DKW 350 NZ with a rider figure, a very nice add, for beginners exist simpler kits from Tamiya

  6. A. Clark

Great model usual high spec detailed kit

    as i expected,tremendous delivery time.!

  8. Jennifer Snyder

This is another very nice kit from Tamiya. However, at this price point, the kit should include photo etch grills for the rear deck, and link and length tracks would be better than vinyl. Despite the side track shields, the track is still visible on the actual vehicle, so I had to glue the vinyl tracks to the tops of the road wheels for an accurate result. Most of the sprue attachment points are good, but the tiny grab handles should attach at the pins that fit into holes on the tank rather than the middle of the handle where sanding is delicate work. The fitment was very good. I only needed to fill a fine gap in one front fender. The build was enjoyable and result is quite nice. I definitely recommend this kit.

Had to knock it down a notch due to parts on the D parts tree, such as the turret, not being fully formed. The plastic did not fill in the entire mold. Had to contact the manufacturer for replacement parts. They will only send the exact parts you need, not the entire card/tree, so be sure to have that info (card letter and part number) handy.

Otherwise, it is a nicely detailed model. The parts fit together nearly perfect, without gaps or major fitting as lower end kits often require. Plastic is a light, desert brown color. Comes with all figures and motorcycle pictured.

  10. CM

This was a nice out of the box build and is my 5th armor model since I moved to 1/35 scale models. I love these classic Tamiya kits and this went together well with perfect fits and no parts issues. I tried to keep it as close to the “box” as I could but also incorporated winter camo on this King Tiger.

  11. Robert Hessler

beautiful, just a note if you use the rubber tracks, I set my idler roller to where it showed on the instructions I believe it was straight down, and the tracks was very tight, I recommend moving it one notch towards the front towards the road wheels. both tracks was tight but the one I put on the left was super tight, thought it would break, but it did stretch the track to where there was a gap in the track at the assembled point of the track. I used Tamiya super thin glue, to assemble the tiger and tracks.

  12. Emonte85

My only gripes are the fenders fit on like garbage and the give you enough parts to assemble 1 and a half motorcycles…. Uhh ok? Tease me with almost 2 or something? Other than that the model went together nicely.

  13. Steve

Arrived quickly, was bought as a present, the receiver loved this product said it went together like a dream, fantastic
