  1. Randy

Ok this is one of the more basic kits from Tamiya for a Sherman, but its pretty cheap and goes together well. This was my first model for about 10 years, and I was pleased with the result. Its not as detailed as some of the more expensive kits, but for the money I was very pleased.

  2. Ronald Kulka

Really good kit, shipped fast. I was hesitant to buy this kit as most Sherman kits out there are pretty innacurate. This one for a “bargain” kit is pretty spot on and a $10 upgrade sprue you can find at most hobby stores can fix the inaccuracies of this kit. Things I liked about this kit:

LOTS of bits and bobs in the way of field packs, ammo packs, spare tank tracks and wheels to make your Sherman look authentic.

Kit was easy to assemble, not too much to clean up with the hobby knife as far as mold lines go.

Lots of miniature’s to do a diorama with and plenty of kit to go along with them.

    Things I disliked:
Upper hull and lower hull fit is just riddled with gaps, get your filler putty ready because this is NOT Dragon quality.

Typical Tamiya upper / lower design means that the space above the treads is hollow.

No interior detail- you can assemble with the hatches open but why would you? the interior of the tank is just a giant unsightly hollow area.

Rubber one piece tank treads, I guess I’m spoiled by magic tracks but the look of the rubber treads sucks, there should be a natural “sag” when the tank isn’t in motion- these fit like a rubber band and you can risk stretching them without them snapping.

Overall a very good bargain kit but if you are serious about your bench time and want something really nice go with a Dragon for the extra $$$.

Another good Tamiya Kit. Would recommend!

    great

  5. Matt

This kit didn’t live up to Tamiya’s normal high standards, gaps and poor fit. Highly unusual. Loose parts, but that was due to poor delivery transportation.

It arrived in its box, no packaging whatsoever, crumpled and not secured. A label stuck over the front and posted, WTH seriously unimpressed

  6. Jonathan Pyzynski

Love it! Its a simple model with tons of extra supplies 5 men and all the extras. It does take a bit more of an experience modeler to do things such as drilled holes and no pre-set holes for some pieces. Over all a beautiful piece.

I like these kits because the directions are clear and easy to follow because of the drawings. I feel that some other manufacturers use to many parts in their kits when less would definitely be better. The Sherman I built is accurate and I added some after market sandbags to complete the tank.

  8. Jonathan Pyzynski

This project was an absolute blast. This was my first time building a model tank. Great for less experienced model builders such as myself. If your looking to give the hoppy a try and interest in U.S WWII history this is a good place to start.

  9. Paul Lowther

Tamiya quality at it’s best the detail is awesome on this sherman.

  10. Amazon Customer

A decent little model. However, I give it only 4 stars because Tamiya decided to skimp out on providing the underside of the fenders. I had to make my own inner fenders for this model. See pic.

  11. Randy

Another good kit from Tamiya. Good price and fairly easy to build.
Comes as US Army but swapped out some unused decals to make it British and added some stowage.
    Pleased with finished model.

  12. Matt

Haven’t made this model since I was a teenager and it gave me just as much pleasure as a 50 year old

  13. Robert Hessler

already a bit older, still nice Tamiya kit of the M4A3(75)w Sherman but with some lacks on details, like missing cast texture and missing or simplified details, so needs a few improvements to turn out in an accurate model of the famous Sherman. The kit includes a lots of accessories, also the add of a few figures is a nice extra, overall easy to assamble and turns out nice (the on my model added scratch built hedgerow cutter is not included in the kit)
