The only problem I had was customs opened the package and also one of the colour pots but failed to reseal the lid so of course it leaked everywhere. But that’s life, all the others are ok.

I ordered a couple of hobby kits for my train set up, and it needs to be painted to do justice to the purchase. I am not doing anything fancy, such as weathering, etc., nor using an airbrush to apply the paint. The old school method, with a brush. Good coverage with the balsa wood, less so on the copper wires. It dries quickly, but not so quick that one has problems. The amount of paint thinner is ridiculous, so I have two containers for thinner. The first one takes almost all the paint from the brush, and the second does a finishing effort. The brush supplied is good for tiny work, but one would need a larger brush for any decent amount of areas. The supplied brush seemed very cheap, but actually did a nice job for small areas. The silver paint is metallic silver as is the gold. As far as a paint tray, all the bottles fit in a plastic “tray”, so unless one is doing palette type work for mixing, it is useless. A small amount of paint cannot be isolated on the tray. It is meant for a beginning paint set with just the basic colors. All the colors are glossy. If a person is wanting to get really fancy with their paint work, this set is probably not the one to get. I might have preferred a flat black to gloss black, but so be it.
