Vallejo paints are generally quite good, the only problem I’ve had with them is that they dry on the palette too quickly. When you’re blending, it means I need to continually remix several colors, leading to uneven results.
I used to use
Lahmian Medium
, but this works better and is a fraction of the cost. It’s similar to the Citadel product, where you use it instead of water to prevent your paint from drying out too quickly. It will quickly become an essential thinning agent for all your layers (base, shadow, highlight). I can’t recommend it enough.

Very nice thinning medium for painting miniatures. I prefer glaze over water because it has a bit of thickness to it and I feel it helps lay paint down. It’s a small bottle, but a little goes a very long way.
Joshua P Colling –
This product is great it really helps thin your paints and it has a matte finish unlike other glaze mediums. The only complaint I can think of is it’s a little bit more expensive than I want to pay.
Amber C –
It is great to make any Color into a glaze. I have been using it with some very old lumpy paints, and it seems to work like a medium for those if I use a good ratio of paint to glaze as well.

If your making glazes this medium is for you
JPP –
not what I expected, purchased was to repair damaged floor tiles but it does not work at all
innit –
If you’re painting scale miniatures and you’re looking to take your work to the next level, this glaze medium is an essential purchase. Mix it 50:50 with your acrylic paint, add a significant amount of water, and then apply in thin coats. It also contains a drying retarder, so you won’t be working against the clock when trying to blend.
This stuff allows you to achieve some amazing results, if you’re willing to put in the practice.

This is a really great glaze medium IMO. It mixes very well with Citadel / Games Workshop acrylics for hobby miniatures. Took me a few tries to get the ratios right, but there are a lot of great tutorial videos online if you’ve never used a glaze medium before
Fred Dinage –
After you start using this you’ll never go back to thinning with water ever again. It makes the paint flow from the brush better and provides a more even and regular coat. It really helps with getting better results from typically more claggy colours too such as whites. For me this has been a game changing medium and has allowed me to take my painting to the next level. Top stuff!

I used this with a pot of regular rune lord brass from GW with some thinner to bring out the metallic shine and it worked like a charm. Mess with the ratios but this is my secret to good airbrushed metallics
