   While this is designed and engineered in the “snap together” mode, it does require some gluing. The engineering is VERY tight, and the small parts are very fragile. The parts are connected to the “sprue” too strongly; you can’t just twist them off as you can for most model kits. Cutting them away delicately is required to avoid breakage. The engineering tolerances are so fine, with no room for error, that normal snap-together skill levels are not enough. It requires some advanced techniques — clamping, sanding/grinding, gluing — to finish.

   The end result — if you take the effort to get past these difficulties — is nice. On the small side, but nice. The model is molded in three colors, so painting isn’t absolutely necessary. I don’t regret buying and building this model kit….but if I were a sixteen year old kid, I think I would regret it and resent it for being “iffy” to try to work with.
