This is a remarkable kit of a beloved subject. The stuart played an important role for the Brits in NorAfrica a d this incredible kit from Airfix (by way of Academy/Minicraft) is a very, very good kit of this adorable piece of armor.

Great details all around, and quality plastic.

Beware though, rubber tracks (blergh), and individual track links are included for the super-detailer, but these can be a bit persnickety to put together.

All in all a great addition to your Armor collection!

Instructions were good and then at the assembly of top and bottom portions of the tank chassis, they show nothing. I could not figure how to fit the 2 pieces or what I did wrong. Will never buy another Airfix model.

  3. RLL

great kit from Airfix (re-box Academy kit) of the M3 Stuart “Honey”, very good fit overall, Includes individual or rubber tracks, very good detailed, well made instruction, no flashes. There are simpler kits for beginners, but overall easy and a joy to built

Bought during first lockdown and never got around to building so gave away to a friend who made a far better job than I could have done! He said it was an excellent kit.

Was looking forward to this product as I had heard good things about it. I am glad I was right s far all the old issues I had with older model kits I have have all been resolved. The model comes together nicely there were no gaps, the details are very clear and nice there was no flashing on the sprews, the instructor were clear and precise and I like how they now have Photos of some of the parts in the instructions to give you better accuracy.

The only issues. I had really were very small one was the lack of and crew on this model but as the scale is the same as most other brands of kits that you can use them. And the other is many due the the box being damaged no fault to AirFix.

If all future models come out the with the same quality I’m definitely going to get more from them.

This tank is a great model. I was surprised with how many “items” came with it. Things like shovels, sledge hammers, backpacks and a wooden crate (and more). Admittedly, I used this for a mad-max-esque build I am doing with a Dodge Challenger. I needed “greeblies” (spare-parts/ add-ons) and this has tons.

It looks like a fun build with a rubber set of tank tracks and alternately, a “put it together yourself” set of tracks which looks challenging, but it’s up to you as to which one to use, so you have options for difficulty. All in all, this was a great purchase, it was on time and in mint condition.

This is a re-box of the Academy kit. It allows you to build the US Stuart version or the British Honey version of the M3. It comes with both rubber band tracks as well as individual link tracks. The individual link tracks take some effort to assemble, but in my opinion are worth the effort. Most of the parts fit very well (Tamiya like), but some such as the pioneer tools and some of the exterior hull parts have to be “eye balled” into proper position. The kit includes some interior detail which is nice as the hatches can be modeled open. Overall very good value for the cost and an enjoyable build.

  8. MG

Great model that includes interior details, all the parts fit well and was a treat to paint.

  9. DM

Whatv a great model! Great size with lots of pieces yet not too difficult to assemble. I love the rubber tracks are much better than trying to assemble a plastic track. I have ordered 6 1:35 scale tanks but this remains the largest. Perfect for my collection!

I use to build models when I was a kid. Now that I’m retired I thought that I would try it again. I guess I should have tried a less advanced one to start back up with. The instructions were a bit lacking.

Although this tank kit is diminutive in stature, it’s VALUE is massive (Approximately $25.00 door-to-door). The exterior details are more or less “Tamiya level” AND the interior compartment detailing was far better than expected given the kit price point.

I’ve completed countless WW-2 German armor kits, so I’ve made a concerted effort to build non-German kits over the past two years and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the change in focus.

I airbrushed a dark grey primer coat, followed by a desert tan base color coat and then used hobby masking tape to mask off the desert tan and then applied a blue/grey split pattern scheme with a final olive green layer on the turret top. Unfortunately, I lost more of the blue tone than I intended after applying filters, pin washed, artist oils and streaking enamels. Although I really liked the end result, I nonetheless regret losing too much of the blue tone as this was such a unique scheme by the Brits.

This kit is roughly 95% complete. I’ll add some Pigments to the tracks and some of the surface panels at a later date, but overall, this kit is an absolute HOME RUN.

Update: 01.24.2022 – I decided to redo my little Honey and I’m happier with the results.

Been a Tamiya fan for years, but have built a TON of Airfix WWII aircraft. Now? Have TWO Stuart kits(working on one), and since I’ll be 83 in October, love the rubber band tracks. Heard Airfix is coming out with an M7 “Priest” in 1/35th. My all time favorite piece of armor. Can’t wait. Way to go, Airfix !

The package came intact, that’s what I like. The model itself was just what I was looking for and I can’t wait until I assemble it and add it to my collection.
