I returned the hobby a few years ago and was surprised to see that Airfix had upped their game and started to reproduce kits a better levels of quality engineering. This kit is a good example.

Packaged in a sturdy tray and lid box, with excellent artwork, you get several sprue frames of parts moulded in light grey with great details and recessed panel lines.

Some people might find the plastic soft but I think it’s good to work with a plastic you can carved, sand, and shape, than a brittle plastic that just breaks.

There are just enough parts for a kit in this scale offering a great building experience for the noice through to an interesting build for a more experienced modeller.

The clear canopy looks good and is optically clear and relatively thin, while the decals look great with good register and sold bright colours.

Two build options are offered: one is for an Vietnam era US Navy attack bomber and the other is for an Argentine bomber from the Falklands War.

The instructions are good and well laid out logically and the livery pages for the two options provide goi reference and painting instructions.

It looks like Airfix has engineered a good amount of detail into a relatively small kit at 1:72 scale. The builder will have a nice kit that doesn’t take up a lot of room.

I bought this kit to add to my extensive collection but will defy put it high on the to-do list of kits from the collection.

The question now is do I build it as the USN version or the Argentinian? … Ah heck, I’ll just buy a second kit and build both! It’s simply that good 😁

    Highly recommended!

I purchased this as a gift for my young nephew. He loved it. He found it easy enough to assemble with the right amount of difficulty. I will definitely buy more models by this brand.

Great subject matter. Falklands conflict is a historical event I research and build models of frequently. Nice easy to build kit. Good decals. Well written and illustrated instructions.

  4. Facundo Nuñez

As other Air Fix model kits, is beautiful and exceed all my expectations. The level of detail is great and came with 2 different decals set to choice. I really enjoyed this assembly process!

  5. Rafael Hernandez

Airfix has very good plastic molding very little flashing if any. Details very good. Great instruction but skill level should be higher could be a challenge for first timer modeler need to check out YouTube for insight for build . Model shipped super fast. Ordered on Amazon got model in 48 hours!

Solider kleiner Bausatz. Der Nietenzähler und Modellbau Profi wird bestimmt Verbesserungspotential finden.

  12. Alan F. Paredes

    positives:
    – availability, price, moderate difficulty, nice plastic quality, nice clear window, nice decals, nice details, ability to assemble with wheel up in flying mode, pilot included, US Navy decals in addition to another country set (i forgot which one)
    negatives
    – part missing, no fittings on wing for the fuel tank and bombs, engine exhaust too simple, some steps in instructions missing.
