Difficulty level: medium/3 on scale of 1-5. It’s not hard, and I read reviews that people had difficulty cutting out the horses due to the legs bending. I don’t know what the people who said that were doing to cut them out, but I had NO problem. It took about an hour to get together completely. working in tandem with my daughter, this was our 9th model. Very cute, and not at all that difficult if you’ve done some before. I used fingernail clippers, to cut the tabs that hold them on the sheet. Not at all what the bad reviews say. If you’re going to do these, plan on it being a hobby, and you must have patience. If you want them put together to display in a matter of a few minutes, then these Metal Earth models are not for you.

I bought this kit for my daughter, age 10. I ended up doing quite a bit of the assembling, as the pieces were smaller than I’d imagined and dexterity played a bigger role than I’d anticipated it would.

That being said, the finished piece looks lovely and I can see how this would be a therapeutic activity for others. I’d say that this particular design would be great for ages 12+.

as a big fan of metal earth models it’s a fun add to my collection 🙂 if you like puzzles, miniature (yes believe me you need patience, good eyes and handy skills but it’s soooo fun to build !! ) and original stuff It’s a good to try it ! no glue, no paint, only some tweezers, cutters and cylindrical tools ( I often use a pen for the round shape) and soon you will go online (or at your nearly toy store ) to find a new one….. take a look online ! Enjoy !

I’ve become slightly addicted to metal earth, and I really enjoyed making this one. I will admit that some models are frustrating and some steps can be nearly impossible, but this model was extremely reasonable to create with a healthy amount of challenge. It’s a little tinier than I would have imagine, which is the only disappointing part.

Not one of my favorites from metal earth, but definitely fun to make. It’s cute to give as a gift to someone who can appreciate the time spent it takes to make a metal earth model.

As others have said its a very nice product comes with two sheets with the parts cut out i recommend you use a scissor to cut them out so you don’t end up bending it the hardest part was bending the little tabs that hold everything together you definitely need some sort of tool to put it together i used a study tweezer you can use a nose plier or tweezers as i did the size is very small it’s about 2 1/2 inches i took a photo with a car remote so you can see a size comparison be careful not to cut yourself some parts are sharp

There are a total of 21 pieces, 8 of them being horses. This is not a model for beginners. I would rate the difficulty as “easy to moderate”. If you have already done a few Metal Earth models you will probably have no problems.

    Pros:
Etching work is amazing, even better than Arc de Triomphe
Instructions are clear and easy to follow
Pieces fit well, good alignment of tabs and slots
    Looks awesome when finished

    Cons:
Hardest part of model is getting the horses removed from the metal sheet, especially their front legs. I use tweezers, manicure scissors and lots of patience.

Take your time and you will be rewarded with a beautiful model.

The item itself is just as the puzzle should be, but I wish they would put a do not bend sticker on the outside packaging as the sheet metal is easily malleable and any curve affects the assembly.

  8. Jessy

Fun: took about 90 min. You do need more than just tweezers & needle nose pliers. Patience helps. Watching YouTube videos on tools for Metal Earth models helped. Oblique nail cutters worked great to snip out Model pieces.
