アメリカ他いくつもの国で現在も運用されているCOIN機、OV-10の1/48スケールのキットです。
独特な巨大なキャノピーは、透明度も文句なしのクリアパーツで、完成後もコクピットがよく見えます。
機体表面のディテールはかなりしっかり入っており、くっきりしたパネルラインの凹モールドや凹リベットだけでなく、凸リベットもかなり大胆に打たれています。パーツの合いもとても良く、ほぼパテは使わずにサクサクと組みあがりました。
レビュータイトルに書いた「難」は、三つあります。
一つは、説明書にはおもりの指示がないにもかかわらず、おもりなしだと尻もちをついてしまう、さらには、機首におもりをしこめるスペースが全く用意されていないところです。私は泣く泣く、前脚の脚庫の中にガン玉をつめこんで、瞬間カラーパテで固着しました。ひっくり返すとガン玉が丸見えです。
二つ目は、ICMのかなり柔らかいプラのせいで、普通に組んで接着すると、主翼が重みで若干垂れてしまいます。
三つ目は、杞憂かもしれませんが、やはり柔らかいプラのせいで、ランディングギアがかなり頼りないです。ちょっとつつくとグラグラと揺れます。
気を付けるところさえ気を付ければカッコいいOV-10が手に入る、いいキットだと思います。
