This airbrush has a large nozzle which can easily be taken out for cleaning and put back in, very nice. Take care not to damage the fine metal tip, it is easily damaged, even by your finger tip (I’ve done that once already).

Although I am happy with my airbrush, a 0.35 needle if I remember correctly, I can’t help but wonder if there are better airbrush models for smaller scale models, as the ideal psi for this particular airbrush, iirc according to the user manual, is noticeably higher than 20 psi iirc. I am no expert on that particular type of issue, but I can’t help but wonder that maybe other and maybe smaller nozzles are better for working with a lower air pressure.

Relying on a sane air pressure is imo necessary to mix well with my choice of extractor unit (spray booth), which does not work well with airbrushing Vallejo paint/primer at 30+ psi, spraying out too much paint, and presumably unable to vent out all the air going out of the airbrush at 30 psi.

I wish more outlets sold the nozzles and spare parts. Iirc I haven’t found any in my country that sell the parts.

The model comes without a paint limiter. I bought a paint limiter handle separately, as I thought it might be nice to have, just in case I needed something like that, but perhaps isn’t really necessary if you are familiar with using an airbrush already. I also have the same airbrush but modded to 0.50 size nozzle (and 0.50 needle and parts).

Fine quality, crafted to last. Smooth operation. I did a lot of research and experienced users highly recommended this specific airbrush. I use it on airplane models with great effect.

The only other decent airbrush I’ve owned was a Badger Renegade Krome. This Iwata Eclipse is better in most ways. It’s easier to take apart and reassemble, in particular the trigger is much easier to put back than it was on the Krome. Paint seems easier to clean out than on the Krome and I don’t get as much dry tip. The spray consistency is much better as well. The nozzle is huge compared to the Krome’s, so it won’t roll away and get lost when cleaning. And as a final plus I didn’t have to buy a hose adapter like I did with the Krome.
I only give it four stars because of the price. Its cheaper competitors come with more features like needle stops and extra needle/nozzle sizes.

  5. WojtekNowinski

It is my second brush, I had one from standard kit and there is a big difference. Only down side is that cup is a integral part of brush so cleaning require a bit of finger gymnastic.

  6. Heriberto Garcia

    Excellent item thanks

After using other brands, all I can say is that I love it. The quality, the flow of air/paint, ease of use, cleaning etc. Should have gone for this airbrush from the get go. 5 airbrushes later I found my favorite, it has become my go to airbrush for my projects.

If like me, your first airbrush was an inexpensive one, then I strongly recommend getting this one next. It is a sturdy piece and much easier to clean too. My only regret is that I should have purchased the kit from my local craft store, which had a better price than Amazon AND included some paint and cleaner.

I absolutely love this it does well and I actually want another one! Thank you!

El aerógrafo cumplio con mis expectativas de la marca.

I had an Iwata Eclipse airbrush, but I dropped it and broke it.

Since that happened 3 years ago I have wasted more money than I care to admit on other airbrushes because I thought there would be something better for the money. I was wrong.

Yes, the Iwata Eclipse is more expensive than many of those Chinese knock-offs. But trust me, you will love this airbrush if you buy it.

The Eclipse is easier to clean. And consistently performs well. I had one of these, then tied 4 or 5 other airbrushes and I was never happy. I purchased a gravity feed Eclipse and it is like I am back home again. I should have never used those other airbrushes. This one is superior.
